Re: MacBook OS reinstall ?
Mac's are not hard to reinstall, put in the disk and and off you go, the drivers are all on the disk and it just works, there is no need to use acronis....
Have a look on newsgroups to get the reinstall disks but make sure you either download the MacBook reinstall disk or the Leopard install disk other wise it will not run, you cannot use an iMac disk to reinstall a macbook for example.
Crash
Re: MacBook OS reinstall ?
Right just getting round to this now.
I have downloaded
Apple.Leopard.Mac.OSX.v10.5.5
File n-mxl155.dmg = 6.42 GB
how the hell do i burn this as ever thing i have tried dose not seem to work.
goggle around with lots of possible ways non really working
Any Ideas on how to burn this? or the name of a file I can download that would make things easier iso or some thing? lol
Re: MacBook OS reinstall ?
Any one ? really need to get these sorted
Re: MacBook OS reinstall ?
I tried this using a piece of software recommended to me (can't remember the name now) but I could never get it to work, I think you'll need to find a Mac to burn the disk.
Re: MacBook OS reinstall ?
Yeah - The DMG file is the Mac OS format. When opened in Mac OS it mounts as the setup drive automatically.
I don't have my Mac here it's at my folks, but I'm sure to reinstall OS you just pop the disc in and hold C when powering on - that tells the Mac to load from the CD and not the HDD.
Theres a few .ISO's on Newzbin at the moment for Leopard. I'd drop one off if I had one to you mate.
Re: MacBook OS reinstall ?
downloading OSX_LEOPARD_XP.iso now see how i get on with that 600mb will be done in about 20 mins
Re: MacBook OS reinstall ?
The first one you downloaded sounds about the right size.
You need to burn it on a Mac from Disk Utility choose burn then it will let you browse for the dmg.
It will need a Dual Layer disk though...!!
