Dry dock timelapse Update 15.04.14
The ship I work on is due into lowestoft drydock tomorrow for its 5 year overhaul, so I have the tripod set up facing the aft deck to get a timelapse of it entering the dock, getting lowered onto the wooden blocks, and then the process of shutting the dry dock gate and getting the water pumped out....
Keep your eyes peeled for the video tomorrow sometime....

Re: Dry dock timelapse....
I genuinely read the thread title as "Dry cock timelapse"
Funny thing is I still opened the thread........ Gotta say I'm a tad disappointed
Re: Dry dock timelapse....
the "dry cock" timelapse is set to follow after i have did my month onboard. it will most certainly be as dry as the sahara by then as i wont see the missus for a while!
Re: Dry dock timelapse....

See, now that this thread has been dragged off topic I can only picture you rendering the funk out of your dry cock..
Impressive that you can type and 'render' at the same time ;)

be sure to select best quality and full screen for best effect :)
Re: Dry dock timelapse....
I think after seeing your photos I was expecting a bit more from that but well done.
Is this your ship? I had visions of you being on a massive vessel out at sea for months on end..
Probably more my imagination than your stories, thinking about it.
Re: Dry dock timelapse....
I love the nose picking at 1:28... was he eating it!
Re: Dry dock timelapse....
i wish i could have done a timelapse from the perspective of being on the dock looking at the ship coming into it... but as i needed to be on the ship that angle is the best i could have done....
The ship you see is my ship. I have been on larger ships, (up to 300m+) but due to settling down I have had to work closer to him, coastal and offshore ships tend to be smaller. I dont work for montths onboard. I do 28 days on, 28 days off, essentially I only work half a year for a full years pay so it has its advantages.
You should see the engine room now, it is literally in bits.
Re: Dry dock timelapse....
edit.... the big blue ship you see on the left. I also worked on that ship for 2 years :)
Re: Dry dock timelapse....

Re: Dry dock timelapse....
haha someone said that today ... "ships photographer"
na it only comes around once every 5 years and even rarer if our crew and not the back to back crew do the drydock, so good experience...
Re: Dry dock timelapse....
