iphone 6 possible long screw damage
ok, so told a friend I'd do a quick screen swap on their iphone 6.
long story short, no screen now. looks like a case of long screw damage. (slightly longer screw in wrong hole damaging logic behind it)
Anyone know/used a repair service in the UK for this problem before?
Cheers
Re: iphone 6 possible long screw damage
Do you know where the long screw is or where the damage has been done? All I can think of is the panel that screws down the display assembly connectors to the logic board but I have never come across this as I put the screws in separate compartments during the replacement. If anyone has experience with this here it will be Mobileman.
Re: iphone 6 possible long screw damage
Iv seen this on a iPhone 5s that some one hard changed the screen
And thought at the time that it would be easy mistake to make
I think you will be lucky to get it fixed ,you might be cheaper paying apple to swap it out .
Re: iphone 6 possible long screw damage
Got a photo of where you damaged it as screws through logic board should been ok if wrong width poss damage but not many fit sure you have blown backlight or cracked the new lcd with that longer screw ?

Re: iphone 6 possible long screw damage
Only took the screen off to test her boy's 6 before ordering a screen for that one. Tried calling it but no ring tone or vibrate. Mute switch doesn't vibrate the phone either.
I must've mullered the logic board.
Put it all back together and she took it to apple today, will find out tomorrow the outcome.
Think I may have to swallow this one.
