Hardcore Coffee Drinkers Please help.
Wasn't too sure where to post this but here goes.
Have turned into some sort of coffee snob. Used to drink instant then slowly grew to despise it and have not actually had instant coffee in the house for about 2 years now.
Have had a variety of coffee machines but have noticed my tastes change slowly from a latte lover to gradually needing it stronger and stronger and wanting less and less milk.
Now usually opt for the Americano when out and about with a normal amount of milk, but don't always have milk at all.
My home machine which is falling apart can do regular ground coffee or nespresso capsules.
I am thinking getting another machine that does both ground or nespresso or am I missing out on something.
Love it strong.
Also what are people choice of ground ?? I love Hot Java Lava from Taylors and Morrisons own strength 5 is cracking for an own brand (I think they call it magma).
Should I try something new for my coffee addiction.
Re: Hardcore Coffee Drinkers Please help.
I don't drink Coffee, but from what I understand, no Coffee connoisseur would ever dream of drinking something made from a Nespresso capsule. You fucking peasant.

I drink Nespresso and I'm tall, dark and Handsome... and I wear a Tissot.
Re: Hardcore Coffee Drinkers Please help.
I got into proper coffee a while ago.
I also found I started liking it stronger and stronger. Eventually I was probably overdoing it a bit as I got used to the feeling of being pumped full of caffeine.
Also found it was staining my teeth (much worse than smoking), so I wound down on it and now just have the occaisional instant as a pick me up.
Or for an occasional treat, make a cup of coffee, leave a Stroopwafel on top for 2-3 mins to get warm soft and moist, then enjoy.
Re: Hardcore Coffee Drinkers Please help.
i grind my own, i use three different machines depending on how i feel, have a stove top i use the most, AeroPress & a bean to cup machine, just bought a fantastic milk frother from Aldi £19.99
if i do use instant i only use Millicano by Kenco
Re: Hardcore Coffee Drinkers Please help.
Best thing I ever bought was my Aeropress. Absolutely love that thing.
As for coffee, I've tried them all but I currently love the Taylor's Lazy Sunday blend which is quite mellow BUT I make it intentionally stronger.
Re: Hardcore Coffee Drinkers Please help.
Get a Moka pot, cheap quick and simple and makes great coffee.
Tesco's Finest Sumatra mandheling No.5 Strong Coffee is very nice.

Re: Hardcore Coffee Drinkers Please help.
Aeropress looks very good but is it one of those setups where you are constantly needing to buy filters or replacement bits ???
Thanks..
The Moka pot looks good too but I think stove top would piss me off a bit.
Re: Hardcore Coffee Drinkers Please help.
You get 350 filters with the aeropress. Some people reuse them but I don't see the point. I take the end bit off and the plunger fires the coffee "puck" plus old filter into the bin. Quick rinse and filter in the end and you're good to go.
Re: Hardcore Coffee Drinkers Please help.
yup you get about 350 filters, but when you run out just buy normal coffee filters and cut them out. you can get 3 out of one filter
Re: Hardcore Coffee Drinkers Please help.
That's just hassle, just buy another 350.

Re: Hardcore Coffee Drinkers Please help.
Is it a pretty quick process to make a coffee then ?? Cheers for info guys.
Re: Hardcore Coffee Drinkers Please help.
Boil kettle, filter disc in the bottom, scoop of ground coffee (I tend to use 1.5-2 of milder coffee), it then sits on top of your cup, water up to a line on the side, stir with the supplied stirrer for 10 secs, insert the plunger and plunge slowly. Top up with milk and hot water.
Afterwards go to the bin, the bottom bit that holds the filter comes off with half a turn, draw back the plunger a bit then push it in again and the whole lot, waste plus old filter - comes out in one lump.
You can also use the upside down method (google it) which is supposed to be a more intense brew but I prefer standard.
Re: Hardcore Coffee Drinkers Please help.
Brilliant... just saw a video of one. Looks like my next purchase.
A lot smaller than my cunting coffee machine currently in use although it has given me many years of caffeine ....
I also find hardly any of the home coffee machines I have experienced get the water as hot as a kettle does so another plus for me.
Cheers.

Just ordered one.. hope your dad doesn't own the company
Re: Hardcore Coffee Drinkers Please help.
Use my aeropress every morning at work and have an older gaggia classic for making espresso at home - grind my beans myself.
For my aeropress I bought a metal filter once I got through the first set of paper filters
Re: Hardcore Coffee Drinkers Please help.
Saw some comments on one site saying you can reuse the paper filters for 3 to 4 weeks each.
Pmsl tight cunts :-)
Re: Hardcore Coffee Drinkers Please help.
if you love your coffee you really have to go bean to cup

Haven't even thought of one since I got my aeropress, it would have to be on mains water at least to tempt me and of course get hot enough. I had a dolche gusto for a while and that had both the same problems.
