Toshibe Satellite Mini Click-Battery Drain
I have the above titled notebook which I mainly use for work.
Last week I charged the notebook and used it for about 20 minutes. The day after I was unable to switch the notebook on as the batteries were completely flat. It done the same today after I charged it fully on Tuesday.
It's a detachable notebook which turns into a tablet which I never use.
I normally get about 9 hours use out of it so there's something amiss. It has two sets of batteries, one in the keybord and the other in the screen. I thought perhaps the batteries were faulty but it's coincidence if both sets of batteries have failed.
I've trawled the Toshiba website for answers but they only suggest updating the bios which I already done a few months back. I tried to download their health monitor software but for some reason the netbook goes into setup mode and then reports something like 'the setup process was interupted'
Any ideas?
Re: Toshibe Satellite Mini Click-Battery Drain
Can you try running in safe mode in case a service/background app is rinsing it? It's possible you have a failed cell or the battery is otherwise worn out which is unavoidable over time. You could try updating all the drivers, in particular any power related ones. Try turning the screen brightness down, if you have the option to run on battery saver try that too but sounds like either the batteries are worn or a recent change is using a lot of resources causing the drain.

Thanks for the reply.
The thing is it's losing power when it's switched off so I'd imagine that points to a dud cell as you mention. Is there any siftware I can install that would give me an idea?
Re: Toshibe Satellite Mini Click-Battery Drain
I'm guessing the battery is sealed in? or you could put a meter in between and look for a drain?
Re: Toshibe Satellite Mini Click-Battery Drain
Yeah it's sealed. I thought perhaps there was software available that I could use.
Re: Toshibe Satellite Mini Click-Battery Drain
I found this but no idea what models it’s for or if it’s safe so do your own research before installing!

Thanks for the link. My netbook isn't one of the affected.
