i did some black and white negs using my flatbed scanner and my phone set to display a white background, it worked well with a little photoshop practice. I couldnt get colour negs to look how I imagined they should though. I found a bunch of medium format negs in an abandoned house while cycling around here, it was quite exciting to reveal a strangers life in such a way.

just found loads of old film and was gonna give this a try, how do i make them safe to take out of there film casing so i can do this without destroying the negative.
if they're still in the film canister you need to get them developed by a lab. Its cheap enough, although you may as well just have them scan them for you afterwards for what it would cost, unless you have a really big amount.
