detector u got a guide of how to use these things?
-
garagekru, biggest tip of all with these keys, is DONT let ANYONE ever see you use one, you'll be barred from most pubs if found using one.
To be honest, the keys are almost useless now, unless used on older Barcrest machines, current latest batch of machines wont even allow access to ANY info whatsoever, & can alert pub owners via MIDAS system connected to machine.
If used in quiet areas, & discreetly, they will mostly show the minimum of info, i.e. Last Win & Last Bank........Tony
P.S. Hi to Detector, nice to catch up with you again m8, when you get a chance, check your mail, Cheers.....Tony

What exactly are these fefill keys? Could some one please explain exactly what they are and what they do? My old man owns a pub and I could sure as hell do with one of these to empty the machine :)
-
Fett, they are a standard key, which fits the refill key slot (standard identical slot on EVERY fruit machine), they are mainly used by engineers, for refilling machines with pound coins, i.e. machine has been streaked/emptied beyond current bank/hopper levels, they also show limited info via the machine LCD display, i.e.
LAST WIN
LAST BANK
On older Barcrest machines, they will also show how much is in the machine itself (hopper), so can be handy to see how much is left, or available, they will NOT in any way help you empty the machine, but just give you an insight into if the machine is worth playing, but to be honest, most pros dont even bother with them at all now, as most of the newer machines wont give any info out at all, & as mentioned in my other post above, may even alert the pub manager via alarm courtesy of MIDAS system plugged into back of machine, this system is fairly wide spread now, & quite sophistocated, as one landlady told me last week, she forgot to switch one of her machines on at opening time, then, an hour later, the phone went, it was MIDAS control asking was she aware one of her machines was turned off, just incase it had been tampered with.
So there you go, wondewr what part of Merseyside your in, as I'm there as well, let me know what machine/s your dads pub has, & I'll let you know what the refill key will do/show, if anything at all............Tony
