Eubank and Blackwell

Many years ago, in the days of Eubank and Benn, I used to hate Eubank.

I saw his showmanship as arrogance.

I since learned (from a friend who lived in brighton) that Eubank was big into charity and the community.

My views changed.

Then I saw that Balckwell is in an induced coma following the Eubank Jr fight ... Eubank Snr basically saw the beating and advised his son to go to the body.

Snr is a legend, probably saved Blackwell's life.

Was a good fight and heard him say it at the time but also feel a bit sorry for the ref as Blackwell was always firing back and I have little doubt the crowd would have been in uproar had he stopped it not the doctor so couldn't really win. I like Eubank jnr and as a fighter think he could be world champ on the other hand that Billy Joe Saunders made himself look a total prick and lost the commentary team all credibility along with making Channel 5 look very unprofessional, god knows who's idea it was to put him on the pre-fight predictions.

I rate Eubank jr, saw him on an undercard several years ago and he looked promising. I used to feel the same way as you about Snr but it was part of his game. I sometimes stay in the flat above his in Brighton but haven't bumped into him yet, my friends have and said he was really nice. This video is something else though, great to see.

For All Eubank Snrs. eccentricities he was always a real sportsman.

I've always liked Snr, as a sportsman that is.. I've never met the guy but he played his 'Character' well and generally backed it up in the ring and some loved it and some hated it. It's part of that sort of sport, same as the old fake wrestling but not fake: character and persona played a major role in who got to 'fight' in wrestling. His son is a chip off the old block and should do well in the future.

I notice after the fight interview off camera someone was shouting a load of shit at him as well, not sure if this was Saunders but really made Channel 5's coverage look unprofessional

I never seen any interviews as soon as the fight was over I switched to sky to watch Kell Brook. I agree again C5 coverage is brutal even that american guy the old guy can't stand his voice .
