However just like with my current cheap camera I find myself wondering if I was to get caught speeding on motorway or pulled over for something whats the legality for police to look at footage or seize camera
I'm not a speeder in rural or street areas but if I was to on a clear stretch of road to have put foot down on say motorway and 4-5 am when heading to a location then could it be looked at ?

Police can seize evidence of an offence under article 20 of pace.
In the circumstances of a video, under data protection they would only be able to look at the data concerning the offence for which it was seized for.
Any other data would not be any use to them unless they started a whole new investigation which for speeding offence I wouldn't be too worried. There would be the burden to prove that the speed on the camera was accurate etc.

Re: Two quick dash cam clips
I've got fed up with drivers cutting me up and trying to bully me into the kerb etc. whilst overtaking me with inches to spare whilst I'm out and about on my scoot so thought I'd slap on my go pro type camera now and again. I made my own mount so the camera was mounted right under the chin area on my crash helmet and can't be seen unless you're along side me, but then tried the usual go pro type mount which puts the camera more to the right side which drivers can see from further behind.. haven't had too many problems since I did that. Here's a quick clip of the sort of thing I got most days when they can't see the cam.

And mine now too!!! :)
I had a cheap Aldi one which I grew bored of, so went for the Viofo 119 but wasn't happy with it as it fitted flush on the windscreen and didn't do so good.
Changed to the 412GW on Tuesday.
Much better!
On it's first test run, literally 60 seconds in and this little moment occurred...

Re: Two quick dash cam clips
I run the viofo been ok for me so far. Understand why some wanted WiFi for clip transfer. I need to get an polarising lense for mine though as it gets hit from dash glare etc

Re: Two quick dash cam clips
Just curious I see a few have GPS tracking what PC software are you using when viewing the tracking linked to map? I have only seen/used the Registrator Viewer program.
Re: Two quick dash cam clips
Dashcam Viewer or Nextbase Replay 3
Re: Two quick dash cam clips
Thanks, installed Nextbase Replay 3 that works fine with the dash cam footage from mine, it's more flashy than Registrator Viewer but seems a lot less info and options, installed Dashcam Viewer works well but limited to 5 captures on free mode and very similar to Registrator Viewer only real difference that is obvious is Registrator Viewer does not use Google maps it uses Bing as default but has loads to choose from.
Would be interested in what you think of Registrator Viewer compared
Re: Two quick dash cam clips
Registrator Viewer doesn't load my maps - its stay on one in America, so I don't use it m8.
