Poorly Drive
Good afternoon,
I have a poorly drive which is about to die, I was wanting to image before it was too late. I have looked at Clonezilla but unsure if this is the best image (free) program out there. Would anyone be able to give me some advice please
Thanks in advance

Re: Poorly Drive
Clonezilla is fine as is DriveImage XML but there are lots of others, all these programs will do what you need the main difference is the level of user friendliness but as you wont be using them on a regular basis this probably wont be a problem. If you need a reliable backup program I have always used Acronis and it has never once let me down but its not free.

Re: Poorly Drive
+1 to scott23reds advice - if you don't mind paying a bit for a quality user friendly program with good support then Acronis gets my vote too - otherwise Clonezilla is my free choice.

Re: Poorly Drive
Clonezilla is always my choice, image to a network share or directly to the new drive. As long as you read each step you will be fine as it explains itself.

Re: Poorly Drive
Clonezilla all the way, and as evilsatan says if you read all the prompts you will be fine.

Re: Poorly Drive
Clonezilla is good. If you want a paid for app then try out Norton Ghost. It's got me out of many a bad situation

Re: Poorly Drive
Acronis is always the first choice for me for backup and restore. Used it since my Scsii raid days
