Is this possible at all?
Been given one and its on 5.1.1
I was going to give it to my boy but cbeebies app and others require iOS 7
Seems not but I thought I would ask, seems a shame to make it redundant..

Nope - 5.1.1 is the highest you will get on an iPad 1 I'm afraid. Good ole Apple do this to make old hardware redundant.Quote:

Yeah I'm guessing the CBeebies app was a recent one so no "old" builds will exist. You could try spoofing the iOS version to get it installed. Not sure if it would work but there are tutorials on spoofing the iOS version like this : http://www.idownloadblog.com/2009/10...hone-firmware/
Seems it's hit and miss if it will work for apps that need higher iOS though. Not sure I'd try it. Might be worth just picking up a cheap Android tablet ;)
Cheers, he has one but the battery life sucks..he also seems to really like the Apple kit..lol.. I will prob have to give up on this one cause hardly anything new will work on it..Shame really

I know the feeling. I have a 3G iPad (With a cracked screen), an iPad Mini and my 3 yr old loves watching videos with dolls in on them. So I bought her a Hudl 2 in pink with a pink rubber case thinking this would get her off them but no.... Give her the Hudl and she screams "ipad ipad! I want the iPad!!" lmao. She knows!
