Anyone know what these things are?
Anyone know what the help these are? About 5mm in length. Only come out at night on my newly tiled kitchen floor. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/07/30/usu3y3ys.jpg that's a picture of one that's had the bottom side of my wifes shoe on it. I can't seem to figure out where they come from as every opening is much sealed with grout?
Re: Anyone know what these things are?
Jabba with an armadillo cross?!
im very intrigued tbh
Re: Anyone know what these things are?
They move bit like maggots and only appear at night. Trying to figure out where they coming from find 1 or 2 every night.
No food is left out and flour is pretty clean. Looks like they may be attracted to kitchen floor as it is cool.

Re: Anyone know what these things are?
Its not a wasps nest, I know that much.
Re: Anyone know what these things are?
They're silverfish, you must live in filth.
Re: Anyone know what these things are?
They thrive in any damp conditions..
Re: Anyone know what these things are?
Hmm. Just bought the house a couple months ago and have ripped pretty much everything out and started again. I'm guessing they like the wet tiles then. Got to find a way of keeping them dry
Re: Anyone know what these things are?
Get some talcum powder down on your tiles at night all around the edge of your kitchen and you should see where they are coming from as they will walk the talc about the floor so you will be able to trace their path back to where they started from but as say I would imagine they coming from under the sink as more moist there.

Loos like the aspheni mind control bugs from falling skies....

Re: Anyone know what these things are?
I thought it was a leech at first until I looked closely as it's seems to be a similar shape, the silverfish we have in our office don't look like that! it's a mutation, goose is right! :wink2:
Re: Anyone know what these things are?
There's a Store room next to the kitchen which have been decorated yet. It also has open voids from which pipes and wires come from underneath the house. In going to fill all the voids up with silicone tonight. Will keep you guys updated as I am sure your all interested.
Wondering if I should climb in under the floor to ensure there no damp/ leaks. Can't be under sink as just fitted a new kitchen. Not even took plastic off the unit doors yet!!
They could have been around before but I never noticed. Only due to Ramadan I am up in middle of night to eat.
Once filled all the voids will try the talc idea to see if they appear again.
Anyone know of anything I can use to kill then?
Re: Anyone know what these things are?
Sliverfish move pretty quickly, your describing they move like maggots?
Slug's of some sort? What about under the kickboards...
Has the house had an extension? My Mam used to get woodlice coming into a room from one section of the wall when the extension joined. Must have been some gap for them to venture into, oh and she is a dirty bitch.
Re: Anyone know what these things are?
I meant in the way they move. But yeah they move pretty rapid.
Kitchen has actually been extended, but all internal walls have been replastered and floor tiled.
Its all new and kept clean.
After reading about silverfish im pretty sure thats what they are. Im just suprised that they live in damp,as nothing visible is damp. Only thing I can think of being damp is underneath the house.
Will also have a to have a walk around the outside to ensure there is no voids in the brickwork anywhere.
Re: Anyone know what these things are?
Yeah fill the holes in the pantry that sounds like could be the source. A good ant killer will kill them off but as with all infestations, without knowing where they coming from you will always be chasing your tail.
Re: Anyone know what these things are?
You seen the film Temors?
Babies!

Re: Anyone know what these things are?
Don't seal all the Airbricks up outside though! The house still needs to breath.
Certainly fill any 'holes' with Silcone/expanding foam for bigger ones.
Re: Anyone know what these things are?
It didn't come out when you pee'd did it ???
Re: Anyone know what these things are?
Does look very much like a Silverfish.
Either this -

Probably not, silverfish tend to stick to certain paths like ants and spiders tend to stick to one spot.
