I have a GoPro HERO Session Camera but have also reviewed a lot of action cameras and the GoPro's are well over priced, I have found all the action camera's I have reviewed to have superb quality recording and more than hold their own up against a my GoPro, the GoPro app's are better but again they are certainly not £100 plus better and the Hero certainly has some very irritating and annoying things about it. I think you will be really surprised by the quality.

Here is one I did recently only £56 with a load of shit with it, can't show the quality on YouTube as needed to keep the size small but it's crystal clear and sharp.

I recently bought an apeman a70 from amazon on a lightening deal for £46 and an accessories kit for £10, come with all types of brackets and connectors you can imagine. Would highly recommend.

I was sceptical of the difference between a gopro and these cheaper alternatives and couldn't justify price for a gopro for how often ill use it , but having used it , I'm so glad I went with the cheaper option.

Mine arrived other day, setup easy enough. watch image is shit if im honest but the main camera is pretty decent.
Me and youngest are scuba/snorkeling diving again in Marmaris this summer and bought her a full face snorkel mask with go pro attachment, which fits nicely.
batt time seems better than my GPro 3 hero image maybe not as crisp but for the money im happy.

Yeah mine arrived this week and I am yet to fully test it. The watch part is pretty shite. Serves a basic purpose no doubt, but despite being a good idea, its been very poorly done. The rest of the kit looks good though. Not having a GoPro before so I have nothing to really compare it with. Will mess about with it at the weekend and see more.

Still not bad for £50 i guess. Would be interested to see if I can use it as a webcam actually, doubt this is possible though.

Me too especially if you can view the video via a url rather than the app. One way might be to connect it to your wifi network then port scan the camera ip address?

So still only tinkered with this briefly, but I am off to see my folks in Spain for a few days soon so i'll take it with.

I did also pick up the selfie stick accessory kit as well for 8 sheets off eBay. Can screw it to a tripod mount then. Also works with a mobile so £8 well spent again.

The watch bit tho is such a shame. It could have been so much more, but I think the BT connection fails it maybe, that or the casio shit style quality screen. Will do in an absolute emergency, but they should have put a higher res screen on the unit itself like the gopros i think. I will find myself using the mobile app much more. As an app its actually pretty good.

When its in the water resist case and on the selfie stick its pretty solid. i would have no concerns carrying it like that.

If your action cam has wifi, then you should be able to pair it locally to your phone bud.
That's how mine works. I switch the wifi on, on the camera and it appears in my phone's wifi connection list.

I think most of them run off a generic app, but usually there's a QR code in the instructions somewhere.

Thanks IBB. Yeah got the app on iPhone and it works just the way you say. It's a bloody good app, essentially a full remote for the camera. Can use as viewfinder, watch and copy saved stuff and start stop, change setting etc.

I connected to my MacBook over wifi, can connect but can't see anything useful like what the app actually does. It won't even let me pull off files. Nor over USB. So it obviously has no known web interface and no ftp server on it. Need to reverse engineer the iOS app maybe.

Would be a great skype cam if could work out the way to access it from USB.

Again, from experience with mine, as you say, the app is very good, All files though are saved to the micro SD in the camera. Fucking huge tho. Even at 720p, a 7.5 min film was 1.5 gig. Had to compress it with Handbrake to be able to edit the fucker :)

It was a steal at 50 sheets if I’m honest. It’s good hardware and the smartphone app is top drawer.

I know u can get cheapy action cams from third party 2 pot Chinese places, but this is way better.

I use mine more than I thought I would. And the fact it’s so cheap means I have no qualms about losing it, damaging it and stuff. Waterproof case as well.
