The good thing is the audio output to connect to i.e. a dolby prologic 2 amplifier...the original one has to be modified to achieve the same...
On that point what happens if I hook it up to my Dolby Prologic 1 / DTS amp? It doesn't support Pro Logic 2 will it be any good?
bobby, you still get dolby surround, just the normal mono rear soundscape though, instead of prologic IIs stereo rear. it does make a big improvement though, even with old style prologic star wars sounds wicked, hearing ties scretching from behind is aweseome and its handy to know someones on your tail
dixons have the rgb scarts in now but are sellin them for £25!! rip of merchants that they are, and yes you have to mod the cable or use audio outs on the tv to connect it to the amp, and as my tv doesnt have straight pass through audio thats a disapointment

you can buy a scart kabel at the bart smith for 4 euro !
Game and EB are now selling a fully wired, gold plated, RGB scart with seperate audio cables for £10, the cable is long (at least 1m) and has seperate phonos for the audio coming from the scart block, again this cable is over 1m so shouldnt be a problem hookin up to TV and AMP. Got one at lunchtime will try it tonight.
game + eb also have the nintendo one at £20 both are full rgb and the cheap one even has audio out too :)
well the £10 cable i got is high quality indeed, a noticable increase on the old cable (n64 rgb). i know the old cable was rgb as it allowed 60hz. just loading up star wars showed very markable difference on the reds in the menu, they looked increadably stable and clear, the audio cables which come from the head of the scart are over 1m, plenty of room to get into my amp. their gold plated, as is the scart, and provide clear sound. all in all id say its an essential purchase, and everyone should have one
