Output to LCD from laptop problem
Anyone have any idea why my laptop isn't outputting the display to my LCD when I hook it up via my VGA cable? It's generally worked prior to yesterday. Sometimes it wouldn't but then I'd restart my Toshiba and it would. It's fucking me right off to be fair. It's got an Intel 965 Express chipset. I've updated the drivers.
I've restarted numerous times and when I do so the screen is initially displayed on my LCD and the lappy screen is blank, but then just prior to my login screen it switches back over to the monitor. I thereafter get the message 'Mode not supported' on the LCD screen. I've also changed my resolution settings up and down to clock if that made any difference. It didn't but it never made any difference my using those same resolution settings in the past. TV is a Samsung 450. Laptop is a Toshiba Equium.

Have you tryed using the 'Fn' Function?
Its Generally Fn + F5 or Fn + F8
Also you can change the screen resolution of the 2nd screen via Display Properties in Control Panel

Re: Output to LCD from laptop problem
There is a Fn Button on Your Laptop. Use this button with one of the function keys Function Keys… F3 to F7 and also if you go to your Lappi’s Display Settings, you would find an option to Mirror the Laptop Screens on both Laptop n TV.:great:
Re: Output to LCD from laptop problem
As above, the Fn button plus the appropiate key is what you want for switching between displays.
Also note that your LCD's maximum resolution will either be 1366x768 (HD Ready sets), or 1920x1080 if it is a true HD set.
