Pipex Connection
Has anyone one else had any problems with PIPEX ADSL? Over the past week pipex had been unavailable to me for around 3 or 4 hours each day, and today it has been off since 9am and is still off now (23:40pm) I am getting really fed up of this now, and I know customer services will do f**k all to help like they normally do.

I think it depends on your area. My connection seems to be fine. I had a couple of hours last tuesday where it lost the connection and could'nt reconnect but other than that I had no problems. All weekend and durin g the week it was on downloading at about 59 K
Keep trying and if no luck get them to check the xchange

Looks like I spoke too soon. Last night the pipex connection was up and down like a yo-yo.
Never mind. I'll see how it is tonight then sit on hold and put in a fault request to pipex....

Hi guys
I'm in the North West and have very few problems at all. On about 2 ocassion over the last 3 months I've lost the connection for about 10 minutes then been fine. Regularly get about 80k/sec here.
It does sound like it depends on where you live as a mate of mine had similar trouble to you guys and found phoning Pipex helpline was near impossible to get through.
Hope this is of some use

Hi nickstan,
yeh i rang pipex last night (took me 25 mins to get through) they asked me a few questions about my router etc, then they said it was a BT problem with the exchange in Burnley. They then sent a report to BT to tell them. Seems fine now apart from uploading data, very very slow and also attatchments on e-mails.

Hi gazzfoth,
Thanks for letting me know how you got on, you've saved me from yet another pipex customer support 'experience',
cheers m8.

Last week, my pipex connection (W. Edinburgh) was really acting up for the first time since I got it installed at the end of May, but it seems to have settled down since the weekend. Speeds are pretty good, as usual. :)

West Yorkshire, log on problems at beginning of week. took three attempts to recognise user name etc. Noticed the connection dips occasionally - is there a way to auto reconnect like on a dial up if using the Green Fish modem (Alcatel!). otherwise, very very good steady speeds using Filetopia, 60-70kps

I use netpal to connect or re-connect automatically.

Out all weekend in north london and is still out today

Same for me too fellas (NW London). Pipex been up and down like a lift on steroids since Saturday. Very annoying indeed. Plenty of users on the adslguide forums also complaining about the same problem.
Pipex again seem to be passing the buck to BT but you can never tell who's really at fault.
I haven't even bothered to phone Pipex - waste of money and time. I'll just sit it out for the mo.
Here's hoping to be back up soon...

told by pipex that speeds could be afected with certain modems - check your speed and report the fault if you want to get back up to power
