Alternative to Dreamweaver.
As title is there anything would recommend to replace Dreamweaver for HTML5 / CSS3 etc
I know it does the job but I find of late it is getting more and more resource hungry. Noticed today it has the fan spinning at max on my Intel i7 16GB Ram etc... even when just idle in background.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Although I do everything in code I do like the Split Screen WYSIWYG style editors just for ease of click on a bit visually and it instantly finds the relevant code for me
Tried google but after installing then uninstalling 3 different pieces of crap I though I would see what you lot recommend.
Re: Alternative to Dreamweaver.
Sorry if this is a half sarcastic and half uninformed answer...
But isn't that just the way the internet has become?
Years ago on a modem I could load a page, text would come pretty much instantly, then the pictures would slowly load.
Some time in the last 3-4 years (I suspect with the uptake of CSS, HTML5), my pc struggles just to show a web page.
Takes ages for the whole page to load (sometimes can't even see many parts of the page for ages), and I hear my processor/gfx fans spinning up like mad just to render a webpage.
For quite a while I've been wondering what went wrong, then I remembered how many other places I've seen recently where "progress" seems to be counter productive.
Re: Alternative to Dreamweaver.
HTML5 / CSS is client side though... no server side at all unless you invoke other techs etc so it should not hammer the PC at all.
Adobe have always been sloppy and shit at their coding imho. When it as Macromedia it was very different.

Yeah I do use Studio when coding ASP/MVC etc but just wanted something a little more lightweight when only using html.
Cheers though.

You Know, that's actually pretty damn good. I think I've played with it in the past on mac, honestly didn't know it's multiplatform.
