GPU not being recognized by BIOS.
Probably haven't worded the title very well, but got a strange issue where new MOBO is not recognizing GPU at POST stage but it is working fine once windows loads.
e.g. I could never get into BIOS to change anything unless I connect to inbuilt DVI connector but it will not see it via the PCI x16 GPU.
A quick google see's it is not uncommon but doesn't seem to have a solution.
Not a biggy as the PC does all work just thought it odd and I do fiddle about in BIOS from time to time.
Re: GPU not being recognized by BIOS.
If the card has a vga then that should give you output otherwise you need to wait for the drivers to load.
Re: GPU not being recognized by BIOS.
Also depends on BIOS setup, there is sometimes an option for whether it loads integrated or external graphics card at POST.
Re: GPU not being recognized by BIOS.
Don't think it is anything to do with VGA. Exact same setup, only change is Motherboard and it worked fine before Mobo swap using DVI.
Will use inbuilt GPU to get into BIOS and check settings as you suggest evilsatan.
Cheers for replies.
