Ipad 4th gen developed thick negative bar
we have an ipad 4 which daughter uses on rare occasions and it has developed a thick line though the screen which is showing a negative type effect.
Reset and erased but still there so im thinking its most likely a screen or MB issue?
Anyone had any luck resolving this without paying apple a small fortune?
Im thinking it will be cheaper to replace it than repair it but seems a waste of money as she doesn't use it enough.

Trying claiming fit for purpose cost you postage to Apple but worth shot, failing that new lcd oem is about ?35 and copy one around ?20 I?d imagine fitting be around ?20-30

If it?s board prob not worth repairing imo unless just bad connector

Re: Ipad 4th gen developed thick negative bar
A little update on this.
Called Ed Apple and explained the problem who checked date of purchase.
bought jan 13th 2013 so as long as we get it into store by 13th jan they will replace it FOC. I call that a win ;)
Big thank you to mobileman I would not have call3d them if not for your suggestion.

Anther update :(
Apple refused to accept it as it was purchased in the us.
apparently consumer law doesn’t cover us purchased products.
oh well so we went to John Lewis and picked up a new 32gb for ?319 with 3 year guarantee.
