Video / slideshow creation

I'm renewing my wedding vows with the missus and am looking to create a video or slideshow which has music and lyrics with my own photos / gifs added to it, either as the background or as small images on the background.

In theory the easiest way maybe that I could download the video from you tube but unsure if / how I could add my own photos to it.

Is this possible or is there a different / better way to do this

Any suggestions welcome,
