360 not outputting video ??
Hi
My old 360 (mfr date : 30/03/2006) isn't outputting video, at first I thought it might be the cable but I tried another and also no response. Audio via optical seems to work fine. I'm guessing its fooked is there any options for it ?, I can't send it back to Microsoft because the firmware is hacked and the case has noticed marks on the casing.
Any idea's guys ?
Cheers
Re: 360 not outputting video ??
Sorry not a clue what is wrong with it but if it is still in warranty for rrod (three years) try sending it back you have nothing to lose just say it has red lighted. chances are they will just repair it and send back.

Re: 360 not outputting video ??
could be loads of things, if it works on the optial, could be that you need to go into the options and turn the res down, as i found this, got mine running in 1080p, took it to a mates and no pic as his tv didnt surport the res
Re: 360 not outputting video ??
this might help any one with the same problem riped strait from m$ site
To reset the display settings of the Xbox 360 console to the default settings, follow these steps:
Remove any discs from the disc tray.
Turn the console off.
Turn the console on.
Note If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, turn the console on by using the Xbox Guide button on the controller.
Note Make sure that you use the player 1 controller when you do this. The player 1 controller is the controller where the upper-left quadrant light is on.
As the console starts, press and hold the Y button, and then pull the right trigger at the same time. This causes the Xbox Dashboard to reset the display settings to the default settings and then automatically restarts the console. So it's OK when the Xbox 360 console restarts.
Re: 360 not outputting video ??
No video but Audio is also known as E74.
Xclamp replacement done the right way will sort this out.

Re: 360 not outputting video ??
I think this happened due to a resolution change. I never actually changed the resolution but my LCD does exhibit the same behavior when I choose a non-compatible resolution.
Strange
Re: 360 not outputting video ??
does the screen say no signal on it m8????
if the screen says no signal then its the SAME thing as the 3 red lights, i had the exact thing saying no signal
i did the Xecuter RROD kit fix AND the X-Clamp fix and the 360 is still workin today with heavy daily use m8
Re: 360 not outputting video ??
Its playing up again. I'm not comfortable fiddling around with the innards. Would either of you two be willing to fix it for me. I'd of course pay you
It'll be a boring xmas otherwise :nono:

Re: 360 not outputting video ??
m8 honestly the x-clamp fix is easy, all you do is remove the heatsinks, take out the srews holding them in, remove the x shaped metal bars under the board, then all you do is put some new bolts in to screw down the heatsinks.
if i can do it anyone can beleive me
to be honest i dont like touching other peoples consoles, or anything else for that matter after i blew up a tom tom once, after that i wont touch anyone elses stuff.
but the 360 i did the xclamp AND the Xecuter RROD kit on is still workin brilliantly

Do you think its worth getting and fitting an RROD kit as a preventative measure. Better to be proactive than reactive if you know what I mean.

get the RROD kit AND do the X-clamp fix aswell m8, do both at the same time, but wait till it fucks up again to do it, i would personally not touch it again till it breaks again but keep BOTH kits in ready for when it does
