Sudden blocking
Hi
My friend got up this morning and notices his SABNZBD was no longer downloading anything in list with following error
Failed to connect: EOF occurred in violation of protocol (_ssl.c:661) 8@eunews.blocknews.net:563
and will no longer donwload despite him having lots more bandwidth left with ISP and blocknews, also his mail servers (in and out) also will not connect.
Any pointers would be gratefully received.

Re: Sudden blocking
unless he has altered his settings or ISP I guess its down to the service provider that's blocked him or any firewalls he has setup installed recently
does he use a VPN ? if not he should be from the start.

Re: Sudden blocking
remove all firewalls and antivirus shit and try again
if its a native connection with nothing stopping protecting it then its down to other measures
like the isp provider or an outside source
if the internet runs fine then something is blocking the other places your trying to goto {try google for a test page}
if that shows up and you have a fine internet speed then go with the fact that something major is happening
trying out a free VPN might cure it. VPN are cheap if purchased yearly about £3 a month

Re: Sudden blocking
Good, glad he got it sorted
Still if he isn't using some sort of VPN, he might someday get a letter through the door or other measures
I got stung a few years back whilst using DC++ of all things, I can remember downloading a lot of MP3s
Letter gave all the details and even the file I got caught with (probably a honey pot user on DC++)
Never replied to it, just threw it in the bin
not heard anything since
