Nintendo Announces Super NES Classic Edition

Following the recent surprise announcement that North America is getting a Super NES Classic Edition, we have now heard from Nintendo UK that Europe will be getting The Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainment System (what a mouthful, eh?).
Of course this will look like the European and Japanese version of the SNES with its rounded corners and colourful face buttons.
The system launches on 29th September and comes with 21 games, including the never before released Star Fox 2. It includes two SNES controllers and works with the Wii's Classic Controller and Classic Controller Pro accessories.
The list of games we have now is as follows:
Pricing cannot be fixed in Europe, so we'll have to wait and see what the price turns out to be. At $79.99 in North America, we would expect this to be around £69.99. More news as it develops.
Re: Nintendo Announces Super NES Classic Edition
I thought this had been announced and sold out most places already :/ I had considered picking one up based on the value of the NES mini but I have retroarch on my Amazon Fire TV so not sure I'd get round to using this one but could keep as a Collectable.
Re: Nintendo Announces Super NES Classic Edition
Yeah it sold out in hours. Check ebay they going on there for £200+
Re: Nintendo Announces Super NES Classic Edition

It's fantastic value to be fair, and a wonderful collection of 16-bit history.
Although retropie still wins.
Re: Nintendo Announces Super NES Classic Edition
I'd love one, the game library is fantastic and even though I have played almost all the games I'd want to already, it would be great sat under the TV. The only thing that could make it better would be 4 ports and a bomberman and micro machines title on there
I'd really like to see the cases cloned for the raspberry pie too.
Re: Nintendo Announces Super NES Classic Edition
most platforms have emulators for this, wtf would you pay even £59 for another dust collector.

Nintendo are dishing out space raiders and monster munch, but I want Kettle chips !!
Re: Nintendo Announces Super NES Classic Edition
I pre-ordered one and no doubt will play it for an hour or so. At least I'll be able to get my money back once I've had a play.

Mmmm, Flamin' Hot Monster Munch...... *slurp*
Re: Nintendo Announces Super NES Classic Edition
I've pre-ordered from 2 places after stupidly missing out on the NES mini. Walked into a smyths toys that had a few in stock and for some reason decided to get one at a later date !!
I think there are still a few retailers that had the nes mini but haven't offered the snes yet like tesco etc so people seem to be watching those sites like hawks for pre-orders to go live.
No one is sure yet about Argos. They seem to be taking orders with no guarantee of stock at all !

Amazon UK limits orders of more than one SNES mini
Ordered a bundle of SNES minis from Amazon UK? You may find an email in your inbox with some bad news.
The online retail giant contacted customers this morning to relay news it had retroactively limited stock of the in-demand SNES mini to just one console per customer.
Anyone who ordered multiple consoles will now just receive one.
Two listings for SNES mini appear on Amazon UK - the original one, priced at £79.99, and a relisting where it matched Nintendo UK's lower pricing of £69.99. Both are out of stock.
In an email posted to NeoGAF, Amazon explained the decision as being down to a "change of availability":
Is the retailer reacting to word from Nintendo it would get less stock? Or perhaps Nintendo has requested the microconsole be limited to just one order per customer - meaning more stock may soon become available.
We've contacted Amazon UK for more information.
SNES mini has been almost impossible to pin down at any UK retailer since pre-orders opened last week. Stock has briefly popped up online - only to be snatched up in a matter of minutes. Pre-orders were also available in bricks and mortar shops, including GAME, which raised the price of its deposit when demand became clear.
Naturally, scalpers have already placed their SNES mini pre-orders on eBay at a huge markup.
SNES mini is set to launch in the UK on 29th September with 21 games built into the system, including the never-before-released Starfox 2.

Re: Nintendo Announces Super NES Classic Edition
Tesco pre orders went live yesterday and promptly sold out. Loads of people have had them cancelled apparently too because the system failed.
Re: Nintendo Announces Super NES Classic Edition
Now all we need is a Mini Super Wild card to go with it and then I've just time travelled back to the early 90's.
This is a 30 minute play with and dump in the cupboard for the rest of it's console life.

I agree, it's a nostalgia buy for many I imagine.
Surely we should all just dust off our pi's.

Nope - it's an ebay reseller buy for most. I'm a bit gutted I missed out to be fair as I would have liked one of these as a self contained SNES rather than using one of my Pis. Ah well - I'll just buy another Pi and a SNES case :) a Magicom or SWC would have been wicked though - maybe someone with a 3D printer can make one :-O
Re: Nintendo Announces Super NES Classic Edition
Attempted a 3rd pre orderat Game as their site keeps going in and out of stock but every time I got to the final page my basket emptied !
