Going to get an Iphone - help lpease
Hi Guys,
i got a samsung pixon the other day, and after a few days (its my first touch phone) i have decided i like it, but don't love it. Mainly because i can't put tomtom on there (its not windows), the camera isnt as good as it is hyped up to be, and there are no decent apps for it.
I am thinking of getting the iphone instead. can you guys let me know the answer to the following questions:
1) is there any sort of maps with the iphone (including live directions etc like a tom tom)
2) I have read a little about jailbreak - what is that? i have seen some cool free apps at the apps store - does jailbreak let you get paid apps free, or does it let you use the apps in the alternative istore section of this forum?
3) if i wanted to use another browser, is it easy to install of the iphone?
thanks for any help given !

no tom tom, it has maps but no tom tom yet!! although there are reports of maybe soon.
jailbreak is yeah basically unlocking the phones true functions and yes you can use apps that are cracked so free. (DONT CONFUSE WITH UNLOCKING TO NETWORKS NOT SURE THE 3G ONE HAS BEEN DONE YET)
the browser on the iphone is fine its safari who i believe are mozilla/firefox and it works fine so you wouldnt want to change it.
ive got one a 3g one and i hardly use it to be honest its a glorified alarm clock to me as thats what i mainly use it for lol.
good good apps for it though, i like it but im not a huge fan.

Live mapping is Poo even on the 3g GPS enabled version.
It hooks into google maps and downloads them as needed in real time.

For me its the most glaring issue with the iPhone i.e. without a 3G data connection its just a slim brick.

More like a pebble I would say. I'm sure Apple would have called it that had Motorola not already copyrighted the name.
