Help EE wifi signal shit indoors.
Today I called EE as I'm pissed off with the shit wifi range of our router.
i asked if we could upgrade to 70mb fibre to which I was informed I'm in contract until Jan 2018 ???
ffs when does taking a mobile contract extend your home broadband contract??
anyway after 15 mins of swearing at the twat on the end of the phone I'm no better off and my wifi is absolute bollocks.
So to extend my wifi I have tried sky wifi extender just seems to cause issues with the wifi and causes the signal to drop out.
I can't use net plugs I do already have 4 of them but not useable on firestick or iPhones.
So is there a cheap router I can buy that has a removable aerial that I can stick in the loft to clear the solid brick walls of our bungalow?
i have heard that the home hub 5 is a good router for signal but don't want to waste money.
Re: Help EE wifi signal shit indoors.
I'd speak to them about the contract as you should be told if you are ever renewing it.
One thing to consider is that you can have a really powerful router and for the signal to reach all areas of your house but if the receiving device isn't as powerful then you may still have problems I.e. I replaced a sky router with an Asus RT68U for a mate, all of a sudden they had full signal in rooms they didn't before but still their fire sticks had issues where playback would stop. I had them move the router to the centre of the house and now it's perfect. That router is really good, especially with Merlin firmware and there is an ADSL version too both have detachable aerials.
Re: Help EE wifi signal shit indoors.
How about the powerline adapters which have built in wifi repeaters
Re: Help EE wifi signal shit indoors.
I have been looking at the asus routers on ebay some are a tad pricey :P
The powerline adapters may be the cheapest option i think?
