Print scanning
I'm trying to scan some photo prints taken quite a few years ago, they're all in good condition, but i'm finding my scanner is just not up to the job, it just doesn't seem to grab much detail.
I imagine a pro lab would be able to do a much better job, so can anyone recommend somewhere that could do it for me?
Thanks

Re: Print scanning
I found this with a brand new scanner over xmas though it turned out I had to tweek the scanner's settings instead of letting the scanner determine the document type which it always seemed to get wrong.
Try setting it for colour document or forcing it to scan as photo?

Re: Print scanning
I've had it set to scan as photo, but i will try as colour document, it's an Epson SX235W btw, it's a brilliant wireless printer.
Thanks

Re: Print scanning
Have you set the scan resolution high enough?

Re: Print scanning
I've gone up to 600dpi with the scan resolution, which produces huge files, and they're slightly better, but the quality is still poor.

Re: Print scanning
Must be the imaging that's fecked then. . . . a decent scanner/printer is needed, yours is about as entry level as poss, £34 new?
I have a mono laser Samsung printer/copier/scanner and separate Samsung colour Laser printer, great quality all round. . .
