Re: has he bricked his psp?
if it already had custom fw on it, you can hold the right shoulder button as you switch on to bring up a debug menu.
Dunno if it'll help, but its something to check.

any ideas guys, as he's got to tell his kid that it is knackerd.
cheers
SOUNDS LIKE IT ........
ALSO
NO THE PANDORA BATTERY IS NOT A CON, AND UNLESS YOU HAVE HAD THE FIRMWARE UPDATED PREV, YOU WILL NEED TO USE THE PANDORA BATTERY TO RECOVER THE PSP & FIX & UPDATE.
Re: has he bricked his psp?
ok, is this a special battery, or as i have seen it can be home made?
Re: has he bricked his psp?
its just a type of batt ( i think its an old psp batt that is updated in some way to enable the modding of the psp). You can buy them as pandora batts or google info in how to modd your own maybe.
could try the sony consoles section if you hadnt already, see if there is any advice there
Re: has he bricked his psp?
You just need a friend with a old PSP that is already homebrew enabled to make one, and you can change it back easily or just use the pandora battery every day use.
