oops didnt realise it was a 3DS never mind, PM sent
The only R4 I know of for the 3DS is an R4i, which is a clone of the gateway and for a guess, is probably utterly useless now since It doesnt seem to have been updated in years (according to the GBAtemp wiki)
that is what the card is an r4i 3ds rts
tried nothing working
you got a pic of the card i have most firmwares but it depends on actual card think latest is 1.84b released sept 16
tried to upload keep fail
I thought you can always hardmod and then just use a CFW ?
oE.
the R4 card is useless as far as I can tell. The best option would be a softmod CFW.
what version is the 3ds as can do a lot on older firmware without a card
I'd ditch the card and softmod it https://plailect.github.io/Guide/
Did mine a while ago and haven't looked back! Got all my games on SD now ;) Didn't think anyone really bothers with the carts anymore.
Not a clue about this, My 7 year old lad has a 2DS, how do I get a mod or whatever to play games?
How much and where do I get from with games etc
EDIT * Just saw a post on here about the Supercard DSTWO
Are they still working?
Cheers

My outdated knowledge is as follows: if the 3DS is on firmware 9.2 or less you can install a softmod, install the games to the home screen and play from there. It's far from straightforward.
If the 3DS is anywhere between 9.3 and 10.7 you can do a downgrade, which is more complication, but seems possible by a dedicated noob.
Above 10.7, I think softmod is out of the question for the time being.
Another option is a SKY3DS cart, which is a lot less elegant, but it is very simple and almost fool proof. Dump the games onto a card's SD card and choose between them with a button on the card itself. I believe it can be more difficult to get newer games working, but those problems soon get ironed out.
There's tons of info over on GBAtemp, but it takes a lot of effort to find something digestible to a newcomer.
Look at http://www.3dsiso.com/
Has tutorials on how to do it but yeah need to check the firmware version as easier the older it is ;-)
