Presume I download the maps you have labelled
"For all Navcore versions from v7.4** & higher.
NO - ALG, IQ Routes etc."
Am I OK to use this Easy Activator as in your original post to start then?
Yes mate, you can use the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland v930.5601 map with your v7.903 navcore.
If you use the v5 activation tool you will have to manually edit the meta file & add correct info from the map thread. You can use notepad to open & edit it.
The version 6 is probably better & easier - just copy it onto your tomtom & then run it using windows explorer, you will have to update the meta file first, but this option is still working on the v6 activator.
Re: Simplified instructions for activation of maps
Hi Russ
Apologies if this is a lame post as I don't want to brick the Tomtom Go 500 I've just been given, but here goes with a couple of questions..
Do I copy the latest United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland v930.5601 to the Tomtom SD card before I run the activator?
Do I copy the activator.exe & meta.txt to the root of the Tomtom, or root of the SD card?
I think I've got the hang of the rest, as in browse to the activator using Windows Explorer & follow any promts? Or, is there a set sequence to be followed?
Re: Simplified instructions for activation of maps
What version of navcore is on it ? Best is probably the latest official version.
Has it been patched ?
Check that this map will work with the navcore you've got - it needs at least v7.4**
Which activator are you using ? Some are run on your pc, others are run on the tomtom.
Re: Simplified instructions for activation of maps
if you backup the sd card to your pc, you cant go too far wrong.
that is if the tomtom unit boots and uses the sd card for maps and navcore etc.

Navcore v7.903
Not patched as far as I know
As it's Navcore 7.903 is this map no good then?
The activator I got from here, Albert Swarfega's v6.15

SD card backed up to PC & because it's an older unit I'm assuming it uses the SD card for maps/Navcore?
Re: Simplified instructions for activation of maps
It must be patched to be able to use a copied map.
"United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland v930.5601 (May 2014) 180mb
For all Navcore versions from v7.4** & higher.
NO - ALG, IQ Routes etc."
You have got v7.9** - that is higher than v7.4**, so yes it will work after patching ttsystem file & activating the map.
v6.15 activator must be on the root of your tomtom or memory card - in same location as you tomtom & map files / folders & it will need updating to getthe latest meta file.
Re: Simplified instructions for activation of maps
Stupid question I know, but do I copy the latest map to the SD card BEFORE running the activator?
Re: Simplified instructions for activation of maps
That's the way I've done it previously yes.

I have followed all steps and managed to update maps on my ttgo500, I want to update Navcore as well my current one is V7. Can you please reccomend any navcore with ALS, IQ routes for go500.
Also is there any tutorial I can refer to for updating navcore and speed cameras.
