I use one of the firefox extensions that lets you do this

MXTube used to work a treat on the iPhone. I've always used keepvid and then a flv convector to convert to wmv and then Nero to change to whatever format i wanted. Long way around but it was reliable.

Realplayer downloads them to your pc. Only works through I.E. at the moment. It did work through Firefox but it has not been updated to work with the newer version.

There is also this Media converter which downloads and converts it. You just paste the URL and choose the format. ;)
