Vape Mechanical Mods...Fail, Cloud Chasing
Vape Mechanical Mods...Fail, Cloud Chasing
i have been messing around with making a mechanical mod without any luck,
it just didnt like any battery's i put in it,
Turned Out The Batterys Are Cheap Fake UltraFire 18650, it would vape once then fail,
so i just looked around on ebay and found some new Li-On batterys (sony i think)
(£7.95) From A Good Supplier In The UK, a new mech mod tube(£8.50)
put my omaga clone's(£9.50) on it and it vape like a Steam train, great taste.
a quick video i made at work today.

Re: Vape Mechanical Mods...Fail, Cloud Chasing
why would you breathe this shit, untested and unregulated crap, with some research suggesting it is harmful...
Re: Vape Mechanical Mods...Fail, Cloud Chasing
Maybe because most studies seem to show it to be the lesser of two evils when compared to smoking tobacco?
Mybe my opinion is different because I already mix untested and unregulated "herbs" that some studies have shown to be harmful with my tobacco on a regular basis.
Re: Vape Mechanical Mods...Fail, Cloud Chasing
1 pollutant against 1000's of pollutants in real tobacco , you do the math. nicotine is no different than caffeine so they say.
nearly 6 years i have been a vaper.

Are you running those in series?
Probably the best place to buy batteries is from this guy
http://www.ebay.ie/sch/big_f_d_d/m.html
He goes by the name Torchythebattery boy in vaping and flashlight circles and it the go to guy for many. The problem with Sony VCT5's is that' they've not made them for years so there's some question about how old the cells people are currently selling and ebay is full of fakes, reclaimed rewrapped cells from laptop packs etc.
What wire are you using? At a glance that looks like 24AWG which is only good for up to 3.5a.
That switch will only be rated for about 3a DC too although you can push switches without too much trouble, they just tend to stop working.
Using 4.,2v as the voltage depending on how low resistance wise you go you need components that can handle:
1.5ohms - 2.8A
1.2ohms - 3.5A
1ohm - 4.2A
0.8ohms 5.25A
0.5ohms - 8.4A
0.3ohms - 14A
0.2ohms - 21A
0.14ohms - 30A Which is the discharge limit of a Sony VCT4
People vape lower than that banking on it magically falling within Sony's pulse limit of 60a or using parallel cells but it's not advised.
Wire wise
14AWG can handle up to 32A
18AWG can handle up to 16A
If you're drawing much more than 3A then using a mosfet will allow you to use any switch
Attachment 29515
Fuses are nice too as is an on off switch as the mod will drain slightly when not in use.

Re: Vape Mechanical Mods...Fail, Cloud Chasing
As I said previously, I can see how it makes sense to use a vaporiser instead of a cigarette.
However I was in hospital earlier this year and it was found I have a malformed blood vessel in my brain. Due to this, I was advised that continuing smoking would increase my risk of future complications.
A few doctors I spoke to said nicotine vaporisers would be a good step forwards as I wouldn't be putting as many toxic chemicals into myself.
However when I do use one of them I normally quickly get a headache in the location the AVM was found so I think I'm just better off sticking to the natural method until they get me fixed.

Funny that you get headaches from e-cigs......I used to get them too when I started using one. Really bad headaches too but I read somewhere that the e-liquid dehydrates you and someone on a forum I used to frequent suggested drinking more water throughout the day than usual. So, I did and the headaches stopped.
I'm not suggesting that it would help you but the headaches thing struck a chord.
Re: Vape Mechanical Mods...Fail, Cloud Chasing
I think the nicotine strength you tried may have been too high.
The batteries you choose for a mech mod are really important.
People have been injured by crappy batteries venting and sometimes even blowing up with insufficient venting in the battery mods.
I always stick to known brands and check to see what torchythebatteryboy has to say about each model before I make an order now for that reason.
They may be a quid more than some of the other batteries available but I'm happy with my samsung 25Rs and 30Qs
