Post your home cinema/av setup pics here
Always interested to see what other techno freaks have for there home setups, will post my pics soon, my system is not the greatest by a long shot but im pleased with my 32" lcd xbox with xbmc and 5.1 setup etc.
post your pics here for all to see! :)

Re: post your home cinema/av setup pics here
Hows your XBMC running? I acquired a Crystal Xbox recently which happened to be chipped with a 40Gig drive. Did you have any dramas installing or was it just the one CD and away you go? Had a nightmare un-raring it to start with.....Want it to stream from my HTPC to my upstairs TV.
-
Re: post your home cinema/av setup pics here
i originally installed it from the slayers disk and then downloaded the latest t3ch release from the xbins.
Took a while to get my head round originally but now its pretty much running a treat.
got all my media streaming from a sumvision network hdd enclosure available from S:V:P with a 300gb drive in, this is networked through my router.
the only problem im still having is that some films in 5.1 send the voice channel to the sub which is really annoying!
apart from that its great and i will be adding another xbox to my bedroom also soon

Re: post your home cinema/av setup pics here

50 inch LG and it`s a native 1080i resolution supports up to 1920x1440.
-
Re: post your home cinema/av setup pics here
I know my Sky box is not HD but to be fair the TV upscales any input and for my money there is`nt that much difference, as long as what i`m watching is AC3 then i`m happy.
I also have it hooked up to my PC so i can stream HD movies through the Xbox360, i have loads of films that are 1080i with AC3/DTS.

Re: post your home cinema/av setup pics here
My best to date is Terminator 2 in HD, the biznezz :)

Re: post your home cinema/av setup pics here
I did a similar post a while ago here, so copied text from there as pics no longer active, and mine has not changed much since then....
No hd/lcd as yet, I will get one when the tv blows cos I'm a tightarse:happy:
Front speakers, Paradigm studio reference 100's, nearly 5 foot tall
Kenwood KRV888D av amp, Pioneer DV2650 dvd, Pioneer PDR609 cd recorder/player, Technics RS840 tape deck
Xbox chipped xecuter 2.6 with 250g hdd, sky box, Aiwa svhs video, Technics SHE66 eq, Technics SLP370 CD
And an overall pic with 100" wide projector screen down, 32" ws tv, kef centre speaker, oh and beer fridge:p - The projector is fine in daylight, or lights on, but for some reason (maybe camera flash?) it appears white in this pic
..so here is one with the flash off
-
Re: post your home cinema/av setup pics here
Looks kinda fuzzy but being that big i`d expect as much.
P.S. Loose the tapedeck man !
-
Re: post your home cinema/av setup pics here
Its sharp as anything, I think its this shitty nikon making it look crap, d'oh
I would lose the tape deck, but its at the bottom of the pile and I really cant be arsed to move the stuff on top:happy:

Re: post your home cinema/av setup pics here
OIC !
Nice amp BTW, nice to see someone takes their AC3 seriously, sorry did`nt mean to be rude about your pic quality, a photo never does anything much justice.
-
Re: post your home cinema/av setup pics here
No worries mate, I knew you were not being rude!
Yeah, the amp is pretty good for an old one, I used to have a Yamaha one before and it did not sound anywhere near as good with my speakers, the kenwood really kicks some arse. Only thing is that although it does AC3, it does not do DTS, only digital 5.1, but I have tried a modern DTS amp (Denon), and it still did not sound as good, no where nearly as much "punch" with the bass, so I stayed with the Kenwood one....much to my neighbours dismay:whistling
-
Re: post your home cinema/av setup pics here
True mate, my amp is auto switching and i agree that DTS is no where near as good. I tend to find it`s french crap they tend to use DTS.
Check out Pink floyd and Dark side of the moon in 4.1 both DD and DTS, the 4.1 dolby digital is far better than the DTS stream, to this day i have heard nothing better, although it is 4.1 it`s staggering.
Send shivers down me man, check it out if you want some serious separation.

Re: post your home cinema/av setup pics here
Kryp, your steup makes me sick, no one should be allowed a setup like that.
Mind is I ask how much it set you back?

Blimey i`m flattered, £3500 it`s an LGPX4D TV and a Sony DAV-DZ810W home theatre system, there is probably better, bigger, louder out there but it`s enough for the sized room i have.
The Sony home theatre system also upscales DVD/Divx to mega res of 1920x1440 and also plays SACD playback.
Thanks for the comment.

don't be daft, tv is so boring !
it was my experimental network media hub, and now i've got a xbox which is taking it place, so i'll probably get rid.
the mouse you see is connected to a pc with the graphics card of a loading C64 game...but due to money placement issues it isn't going anywhere just yet. I might end up getting the worst gfx card I can find and just VNCing it for my needs, as essentially the pc behind is only a file server, but it's a pretty good one searving a few HDDs :)

Re: post your home cinema/av setup pics here
Here's my setup.
This is a room I had built at the back of my garden. It is used as a gym, games room (it tends to get a bit loud when we play 360 or PS2, especially Pro Evo) and for sessions! hence the fridge (which is full of Stella).

I have a Wii but it is set up in my front room so that the kids don't have to trek to the back room every time they want to play it. I only have a 30inch CRT at the moment for it but i'm looking to upgrade to either a 32" Samsung or 37" Toshiba LCD. Will post when I get it.
