Re: PSVR or Nintendo Switch
Also heard bad stuff about the PSVR, I know one guy who has one and doesn't really use the VR stuff hardly anymore.
If I had to choose it would be the switch but like you said almost fuck all third party support. Apart from the launch 3rd party announcements Nintendo always seem to have no support after that.
e.g. Nintendo/Bethesda big announcement of a Switch version of Skyrim.... bet it's the only Bethesda title it gets.
Re: PSVR or Nintendo Switch
The only use I found for "VR" was porn, using Google Cardboard and my Nexus 5X and even that was a pain in the neck (literally). At the moment VR is just a gimmick like it's predecessors PS Move and Kinect. If I had £350 spare for gaming I would probably spend it on a good headset and a few games. However being more realistic, if I had £350 spare the missus would find twenty different ways to spend it on the house or on the baby :(

Yeah, tbh if I hadn't saved the money from birthdays and Christmas it might be used elsewhere. I've got a decent headset so it's kind of burning a hole in my pocket.
Re: PSVR or Nintendo Switch
I have had a PSVR for the last week and really enjoying it. Yes, the res is low and the graphics tuned down but I stop noticing it as soon as I start playing games. Just bought Eve Valkyrie and its fantastic. The 3D and sense of scale is mind blowing. London Heist on PSVR worlds is really good and I've played a demo of Driveclub VR which is the first time in a long time that I've enjoyed playing a driving game. I'll admit, there aren't a lot of titles out there that excite me...yet...but I know Ace Combat 7 is coming soon which looks superb so I cant wait for that.

Fuck that shit - get a PSVR + VR Aim Controller (coming soon).
Fantastic stuff. Anyone that moans about PSVR being crap or rubbish or other nonsense has either not tried it at all or favours the horrendously expensive PC versions. To those I say try VR Rally, Res Evil, VR Batman or Thumper.
Re: PSVR or Nintendo Switch
Had a PSVR since before xmas and love it, Rush of Blood is a must I love the game once you stop shitting bricks on every turn and settle in its great.

OK, so I went with the PSVR and have had it about 3 weeks. Played the demo disc and Star Wars VR mission. Enjoyed the 'Headmaster' demo and the Star Wars VR mission, the other stuff was just OK. Had a go on Resident Evil 7 and could only manage about 20 minutes before I felt sick. I have to say though, once you actually got inside the house in RE7, I felt scared like nothing I've felt before in a game. There is a genuine feeling of dread as you creep around the house. Shame I have to lie down after 20 minutes. Seriously considering trading it in against a Switch now.
Re: PSVR or Nintendo Switch
had my PSVR since launch love it highly recommend it
Re: PSVR or Nintendo Switch
I bought a Switch a couple of days ago. I'm holding out for Microsoft's VR offering as I'm heavily invested in XBox games :)
The Switch is awesome. The controllers are really tiny though when you disconnect them from the main console but using the joycon dock thing it makes it better. Just bought Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for it to tide me over - the missus plays that with me and I can play it on the go - win/win. Zelda is my next purchase but got a few xbox games to plod through first.
Re: PSVR or Nintendo Switch
What xbox games you plodding thru as found the usual gaming summer drought has seem to come early this year?
Re: PSVR or Nintendo Switch
If you feel sick with PSVR (or any VR stuff), come off it when you feel sick but get straight back on when you feel better. It's like getting your sea-legs. You WILL feel better as you use it more. Keeping away from it will only prolong the nausea and sick feeling.
Anyone that dismisses VR as a fad or crap has either:
A Not played a single game
B Has not played good VR games
If you think looking at a fucking TV whilst playing a game is the future you know jack-shit and have a very narrow vision.

I played about 10 games on the VR. RE 7 made me feel terrible, although the game itself was great. Star Wars VR mission was good the first couple of times you played through but was fairly easy and was over in 15 minutes. I enjoyed Headmaster for a bit too but ultimately the VR was left sitting in the box most days. Eventually swapped it for a Switch which gets plenty of use almost every day. Whilst I fully appreciate how good the VR is as a piece of technology, I don't think the developers are quite there yet. For me personally, I play video games as a way to wind down for an hour after a shitty day at work. I came off the VR sweaty as fuck and occasionally feeling ill too. Maybe in another 18 months there will be some killer software that justifies the price but at the minute, it's just not there.
Re: PSVR or Nintendo Switch
I had a PSVR at launch and initially it was great, but lack of decent new releases caused it to gather dust quite quickly, only getting it out as a showcase for when people came over. I then got the PS4 Pro which injected some life into it as it gave a slightly better look to the games. The one thing that did bother me was that when the breakout box was connected to the PS4 Pro I could not get HDR to work at all (Its a limitation to the box) and needed to swap cables over each time I wanted to play meaning that I never played it.
I also got a Switch on Launch and love that console, I travel a lot with my job (weekly flights) so to be able to play the same game on a plane that I do at home is great, however there is the same issue as the VR. Apart from Zelda, Mario Kart and a few others I have found the lack of games to start to become an issue. However from what I saw at E3 this year the next few months should provide me with plenty to get stuck into on the Switch.
I actually recently sold my PSVR, its great tech and really fun but its not quite there yet in terms of software, It felt like a bunch of tech demos to begin with and then slowly we are getting games out that are worth playing, but not enough to justify the price of it. I haven't tried the Vive or the Occulus so can't comment on the difference in quality but just looking on the Steam store there are a lot more VR games and experiences available on them when compared to the PSVR but they also cost more than the PSVR.
