Netgear are a good name m8, have a loook on this site they have some good deals and they sell all good shit, they have a thing called today only where they sell certain products cheaper than normal, and i always seem to see hubs there.

oh right sorry m8 i thought u were asking what make to buy and not what parts, i never used a hub so cant really help.
what are you doing about your dodgy xbox now then m8
29 quid for a HUB? That's expensive! At that price it should be a SWITCH.
keeping the Xbox m8 going to totaly mod the twat out.
chip new HDD n anything else any bugger can think of :)
LOL the only thing is im going to need some one tio do it all for me cos im think as S hit, IOVe acctualy email some one but im awating a reply:)
thats whay i want a HUB to be honist cos i want my XBOX joined up to my PC so i can do the flash FTP thing n put the games on HD :)
would be cheaper to put another nic in your pc and use a crossover cable
just a thought
If you will only be using a hub for connecting XBOX to PC either follow Degszie's advice and get a NIC or get any old hub. They are all pretty much of a muchness now and are generally only limited by the processor/nics on the machine you are connecting (Not to mention the OS)
I use a 24 port D-Link rackmount hub 10/100 (managed) and the best speed I can expect FTPing to my box is around 2.5megabytes per second. The hub can handle a lot more than this as I have tested previously. Winblows sucks at networking anyway and my processors are being thrashed with the services I run anyway.
My advise (if you want to get a hub) : Buy a cheap one and try it. At 30 bucks you can try it out at least.. I am sure it would be fine. If you are getting one try to go for a 10/100 mbit hub instead of a straight 10 mbit as the XBOX can handle 100 nicely.
Gooch, I've been looking into these things (as a novice) and I think I'm settled on this switch and I'll be buying it from this bunch of dopey bollocks, unless anyone else has any further advice..(?)
beans :)
ROFL hehe cheers m8. im now settled on another Netcard in my machine with a CAT 5 Crossover :) but thank you all the same for your suggestion.:)
D'oh me too. Always jumping in with both feet, me. Saved a bit of cash, I just like shiny things on me desk :bleh:
