A gun disguised as a mobile phone has been discovered by police in Italy.
The .22 calibre weapon was found during an early morning raid on a property near Naples.
Officers also seized bullet proof vests, drugs, ammunition and thousands of pounds in cash.
It was all part of an operation against the Camorra, the Naples-based mafia. Fully loaded, the gun's capable of firing four shots in quick succession through the antenna using buttons on the keypad as the trigger. One man was arrested by detectives but others are thought to have escaped.

Re: Mafia 'mobile phone gun' seized
Thats pretty cool though, wonder how well it worked??
Re: Mafia 'mobile phone gun' seized
You'd think the mafia would be able to get something convincing made up. The only person who might believe that was a mobile would be a 3 year old.

This is not new. They used to have bulletins about this sort of thing when I worked in the Prison Service. I think a guy who was visiting Whitemoor or Parkhurst got stopped with one of these about 4-5 years back.

You'd be surprised how infants and toddlers know exactly the difference between fake versions of things they like to grab hold of/bash againsts tables/chew/drop down the toilet etc and the real thing.
My boy is only 6 months and would much prefer to get his cheeky mitts on my mobile, remote controls, the portable landline etc than one of his own toys.
My grandad however is not quite so astute. We found him trying sitting in his kitchen trying to ring Sky on an old calculator to complain the picture on the microwave was just an "orange hazy glow"

Can it be unlocked to work on any calibre? Also is the range better than 3g's?

Never thuoght about that, in the album at home we've got pictures of me when I was well young with a cordless phone, walking around like I was talking about some serious business :D
