Game recommendation please.
Not played any games on the PC for years but fancied having a bit of a gaming session .
When I used to play PC games I always preferred your Age of Empire, Age Of Mythology, StarCraft type thing. Real Time Strategy I assume.
So what is a bit more up to date? I saw StarCraft now has a 2 , so that is already on the list.
Anything else I should be trying ????
Thanks :teeth:

Re: Game recommendation please.
Love me an RTS, AoE 2 HD is well worth it.
Still play Age of Empires 2 + 3, also check out the 8-bit series - http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/2247/ - I haven't played the latest one (invaders) but love the first two.

Re: Game recommendation please.
Downloaded quite a few of your above recommendations thanks. Also came across many recommendations to try the ANNO series of games.... anyone else played these??
Re: Game recommendation please.
yeah they are ok, nothing special though. i couldnt get into them. once you have played all the games you have downloaded, dont forget to check out the mods for them - there are some spectacular mods out there for games that not only improve the original game, but almost always exceed what the game devs done already, and mods increase longevity...
Re: Game recommendation please.
Anno is a lot of fun if you like micro-management type of games.. I would say it's one of the best from that genre.
Since you're into RTS just as much as I am I would HIGHLY recommend Supreme Commander + Supreme Commander 2, and if you're into the old TA games there's also Planetary Annihilation: TITANS.
Other RTS games I would recommend are Company of Heroes + Company of Heroes 2 plus the all new Cossack's 3 was just released not so long ago I would check that out if you're into AoE etc.
That should cover just some RTS games I know you would enjoy, but there has been a lot of RTS games that have come out if you want more suggestions.
On the side if you tower defense games that require some problem solving skills similar to how RTS games handle I would recommend the "Creeper" series. They've had 4-5 games come out since, and my all time favorite is Creeper World 3 in the series so far. The latest one changed up the formula a bit with actual "starships" rather than stationary towers.
And if you really want to get rekt I would recommend AI War: Fleet Command which is like starcraft in space with brutal insane AI that learns.. and you don't want to piss it off lol.. highly challenging gameplay! It's for the hardcore RTS veteran type of players honestly. Casuals would hide in a shed if this was a game they had to play through.
And lastly I would recommend 8-Bit Armies which is a lot like playing the old C&C Red Alert.. In fact I'm positive the guy who did the music for RA is the one responsible for 8-Bit's.
Re: Game recommendation please.
Also remembered I loved Emperor Battle For Dune.
Was gutted it never got a follow up. Loved all the Harkonan, Ordos etc stuff
Re: Game recommendation please.
I recently installed again
sid Meirs Pirates!
lovely fun game, graphix are amigaish but its ok to waste a few hours
Re: Game recommendation please.
im currently playing the Star Trek New Horizons mod for Stellaris...
Just lost the last bloody 9 hours to it.... doesnt half pass the time.
Re: Game recommendation please.
Oh oh. Stellaris looks like I am about to lose all contact with my family and friends.
