re: The 7 year old Girl Murdered by a 15 year old.

Posting this as I'm really struggling to get my head around it, and I have been since it first broke on the news. I don't know if it's because of the innocence of a 7 year old girl (I have a young Daughter myself), or that the accused is only 15 years old.

I was praying at first that it was some kind of accident, then it emerged that it looked like a knife was involved, and now according to one news article in The Mirror, the little girl may have had her throat cut.

It's strange how some events affect us much more than others (I know there are innocent kids being killed in atrocity's all over the world), but I can't get this one out of my head.

Just what the hell the world is coming to.

I think it's because we are able to relate to it more being near to us in our society and a lot of us having young children ourselves and most crimes we have the ability to relate to and understand why someone has done it without condoning it or it being something you would ever do yourself but crimes like this leave you just shaking your head.

Aye it is an odd one this, my guess is jealousy or the 7 yo just annoyed the fuck out of her over the last 7 years and it all came ot a head but sure it could have been sorted better...

Not only is the accused 15 years old but it is also her older sister. At least that is what Sky News reported yesterday.

More closer to home for me, its 4 streets away from where I live. The 15 year old is actually the step sister of Katie Rough. I know the family quite well and a guy I work with, his daughter goes to the same school as katies brother. The poor lad was made to go to school the tuesday morning after his sister was murdered, because there was nobody to look after him at home, form what my mate said the lad was bullied online and to his face by everyone saying his sister is a murderer. I thought that the school/social services or somebody in authority would have removed him from that situation, but sadly not. Tragic for all concerned.
