I feel like I've swapped one dangerous habit for an even worse one.

I never smoked cigs, but I did use to smoke hookah pipes, using it as a way to wind down after a tough day at work. It went from a once in a while treat to a nightly occurrence where an evening wasn't complete without a mint or apple shisha, so I switched to vaping for my nicotine fix.

Initially it all went well, I would vape for about 10 minutes each night and that would be that. As I started discovering more flavours and critically 'sub-ohm vaping' I started vaping for longer and longer periods. With sub ohm vaping, you can easily go through 5 ml in a single sitting. So as I learnt more I switched to 100% VG and would lower the nicotine to 0 to 3 mg to allow me to continue chain vaping, which essentially meant I'd become addicted to the bloody thing.

The negative effects are becoming clear, disrupted sleep, waking up with headaches, mouth sores, spots etc.. and lets just say I'm no longer YouPorn's number one viewer from Switzerland And further out I am convinced that the epidemiological data will show that these things cause cancer.

Time to go cold turkey... I'm going to throw all my liquids in the bin and put my equipment in the loft (several hundred quid's worth), wish me luck folks.

I was saying the other day I think the massive flaw with vaping is that there is no standard one hit dose.

It's too easy to sit there taking hits without having any actual clue how much nicotine (or cigarette equivalents in most people's terms) you are going through.

I tried it and was getting bad headaches in the area of my brain malformation. Doc agreed with me I was probably better off with regular fags rather than vaping. I had similar headaches a few times (none vaping related), and doc found my blood pressure was sky high so I suspect it was same with vaping.

I think the sooner the whole industry is regulated the better, there are a lot of charlatans and fly-by-nights out there looking to make a quick buck by using misleading or unsafe products.

When I used to vape I used it to quit smoking. Like other quit methods the idea was to start on strong nicotine liquids for a month then go for medium strength for a month, then low, then none. After about 4-6 months I was off it with no side effects.

Ive given up cigarettes twice. The first time I just did cold turkey which was hellish. I essentially sat in fly flat for a week bouncing off the walls. Then after that straight to the pub and other smokey environments and stuck it out. After a month or so I was off it.

Then oddly enough after 7 years I went back! It was then after smoking again for a year I knew I had to now quit again. Cold turkey wasn't appealing so vaping, albeit a longer process was the way to go. Never understood why people would just vape for the sake of it.

Have seen the new deadly affect of Vaping springing up is called "Popcorn Lung"

Permanent and potentially lethal scarring of the lung from what I read.

It is added to "e-juice" liquid by some e-cigarette companies to complement flavourings such as vanilla, maple, coconut and more.

I think most companies have removed this from their juices although no doubt some still use it, personally I only use menthol and make my own juice so know exactly what goes into it, never had any side effects and at the moment have no intention of stopping vaping.

I'd never stop smoking was it not for vaping, smoking 30 years and then changed to vape.
Costs me about £10 a week in coils and juice and feel so much better, not out of wind running around work or the banging nicotine headaches I used to get.
tried sub vaping but im a mouth to lung and so didnt enjoy it at all, just use my trusty 30w cool fire iv with a aspire 5ml tank 1.8ohms for a nice daily smoke.

lesser of two evils? who knows all i know is cigs have hundreds more chemicals vape juice a hand full.

im gonna be trying out vaping to quit smoking - no idea what the best method is tho - quit smoking completely and move to vaping straight away or slow my intake and move over completely to vaping over time?
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

Swap one for the other. Nobody I know who has gradually done it has had any success.

3rd time on Champix for me. So much easier. 1st time was a success and gave up for 2 years. A simple change in circumstances fucked that up and I found myself smoking again recently. 3rd times the charm!

Tried those Vape things and I felt I had to have the thing permanently on my gob. Least with a fag, I was good for 4 hours or so... I probably had a shit Vape to be fair.

I gave up analogs nearly 3 years ago and have been vaping ever since. Had a couple of café crème cigars at my brothers wedding in June but that's it since.
It's saved me fortunes and I've had none of the effects mentioned above, but then, mostly I mix my own juices - occasionally I'll buy a flavor or two just for a bit of variety but I'm very careful where I buy from.

Love my vape. Started at 20mg - down to 3mg now.

Champix is great, I've been stopped for about 7 years since using.

I always had you pegged as reasonably intelligent, and a man of science. Smoking a hookah is bad enough, but inhaling what are probably toxic fumes from a device sold in a largely unregulated market is sheer madness. You might as well play Russian Roulette........

We all have a destructive streak, fortunately mine isn't masturbating to french maid porn whilst doing 240 km/h on the autobahn.
