    Default android box

    Hi.

looking for a bit of info on updating an mxq android tv box, the box currently has androin4.4.2 on it, does anyone know if this can be upgraded to a higher version to allow the running of the new jarvis 17 update, and if anyone does where can i get it from.

    thanks

the MXQ needs to be with 2g of ram if its going to be able to run 17.1. this is very mem intensive. also the new android OS is a better OS but needs more space to go.

I'm going to get a new box, especially as the new ones can do 4k out of the box.

An old post I know but if you still want Kodi 17 on old mxq 4.4.2 box go here
https://www.entertainmentbox.com/ins...id-4-4-solved/ Scroll down to option 2 for most boxes download and copy to box via pen stick and install.
Then download ares-wizard install it etc then run it and go to browse builds and chose whichever build you want...I clicked Diggs Fire Builds then chose the xenon clean build it has just about all you should need...but up to you which build to chose for your 4.4.2 box
If you had allready done this then ok but still may be of help to others with same problem...cheers

17.1 had security issues and was quickly patched out with 17.3

Do not think krypton 17.3 is out yet for older 4.4.2 boxes...might be wrong. Only mygica krypton 17 or ebmc which is based on mygica kodi 17 krypton fork for 4.4.2 boxes...Do any of these have security issues?
