Very emotive, but just think how many more people are dying from simple to cure things like starvation.

Most of us throw away enough in our bins to cure hunger in other countries.

You won't get any argument from me but organ donation neither helps nor hinders feeding starving people around the world and I would also say the more donating organs the less exploitation and harvesting of organs from poor countries would go on.

To those that aren't willing to donate, God forbid it happens, but should you or your loved ones require a transplant, you may find yourself thanking some poor soul that opted to donate.

Ok, thats definitely not something thats well advertised

im assuming they would only do that if you were totally screwed tho and had no chance of a real recovery?
surely you cant go in to have a checkup and leave without your kidneys?

I was put into an induced coma when I crashed and was kept "alive" while they tried to persuade my Dad to allow them to pull the plug and harvest my organs as "they were worth more than I was" - direct quote from one of my consultants. They allowed me to rot and waste away; I went from 12.5st to 3.5st in just over a month.

I agree, voluntary donation is good but not the state saying we own them unless you tell us otherwise.
