Default XBox One unresponsive menus, loading takes ages!

I suspect the Hard Drive to be knackered in this XBox One and the fact it's 2nd hand, I've been asked to have a look at it - it's my nephews.

I feel as though the HDD has been bashed or knocked during operation and maybe skipping.

So, is it easy to change? Is there a way to check the drive without voiding warranty stickers? Can I install any laptop drive as a replacement - is there somesort of white list?

Tried to get to the hard reset menu, but takes forever to respond.

Also getting a lot of 0x8027025a errors.

Don't know about not voiding warranty but looks easy enough.

Have had no issues loading but Menus have been fucked the last few days for me. Is this a recent issue. Could be a new buggy build got rolled out or Live issues ???

Swap it out for a PS4 / pro

Sseriously though - my xone s was a proper mess so many crashes - probably just had a bad one but it is gone now. Got a proper standalone uhd player.

Also absolutely no help to what you were asking but thought I would share...

I completely formatted it using the USB Stick method - http://support.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-o...sb-flash-drive
and it seemed OK. Gave it back to my newphew who since tried to install WWE 2K17 and reckons he got HDD Failure errors.

Got it back now and currently installing the game he tried... up to 9% so far. I'll see how it goes. If not, I'll have to switch the drive out. The amount of horror stories I've read while trying it is not worth mentioning at this time!

I'm with Prezzy. I bought my Xbox One new and had the no end of issues with it.

    Laggy UI
Connection issues, wired and wireless with Sky and Virgin Media.
Was a 50/50 chance of joining a session with mates on games, dropped connections all the time.

PS4 has been flawless. Shame too as my Xbox 360 was bulletproof.

Then on the other hand I have had opposite experience lol
Had a mare with the PS4 and binned it off and scratch my head at posts saying XBOX takes an age to install, crashes e.t.c
Had a few days of menus playing up and that was that. Live (for me) always works, games launch quick etc
Also massive games like Fallout 4 etc all download and install in under an hour.

I do have the Elite but a hybrid SSD aint gonna make that much difference.

Never had a PS4 so cant comment on the Pro's or Con's but I can tell that I have had a very good experience with my Xbox One, had issues but nothing too bad:

    1) Not logging into Xbox Live - restart console, works fine
    2) Game not loading or crashing - quit game, restart game, works fine
    3) Gamepad not connecting automatically, restart console, works fine
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

Going to get gripes about both consoles but it doesn't matter which one you have if the Seagate HDD fails then you ain't going to be able use the console ;-)

    Thanks to akimba

That doesn't sound good mate. My XBox One S did the same thing recently. I reformatted my USB drive and the internal drive and the problems seem to have disappeared. It's going back to MS to get the Bluray drive fixed any day now anyway so if there's a HDD problem when they test hopefully they will fix that at the same time

Only issue I have ongoing is the Sky Go APP is fucking shite ;-)

Would love to meet the software dev team and bollock the fuck out of em. Have written better software myself.
