    Hi
I have an Asus DSL-AC68U and I can't fault. has built in Modem does ADSL or VDSL, has 5ghz and 2.4ghz wifi, 4 x gigabit and I have a sumsung 128gig USB3 stick in the back and the firmware allows me to store stuff on there as a server and all my pc's can access.
    Hope that helps

Got the same as Lou_smorals and also rate it. It is not in the same league power wise is the R8000 X6 but unless you need monster processing to use VPN at router level then I don't see much point tbh.

The DSL-AC68U or RT-AC68U (for router without modem) can be found for under 100 ....

I live in a very old Victorian 3 story property and get signal pretty much everywhere albeit a bit weak on the bog which can be an issue if I need quick porn for a wank.

    Thanks to piggzy

What he said - another AC68U owner here - does loads and then some. Get it, you won't be disappointed.

Having had Drayteks for years - currently a 2860 in office and 2820 at home how do these compare?

FYI for any of the other DSL-AC68U owners out there.

You can flash it with the dd-wrt firmware intended for the RT-AC68U. You lose the modem functionality so would require a separate modem but it does work. You can also still flash back to stock if needed.

Just enables you to get the loads more functionality the dd-wrt firmware offers.

    Just a heads up.

    Hi
I think also a TOMATO by shibby I think, but I am very happy with stock firmware and it updates regularly.
hoponbaby, I used to have a draytek 2860, they are twice the price of ASUS but i find GUI dated and a bit too techy for me (sorry), the Draytek I had could use two connections and do load balancing which the ASUS cannot, this was the only loss I had changing to the Asus - but found the Asus much more user friendly, easier to understand and better WIFI.

I have a Draytek 2860 and have set up some of the Asus models. The Asus probably has better WiFi coverage and it has some consumer focused advanced settings whereas the Draytek can do a lot more but in a home may be overkill.

If you don't need the business focused features of the Draytek then I'd probably opt for the Asus in a home as they are cheaper.
