    Default Syria Gas Attack

The cynic in me is saying this is a bit too predictable.

I'm sure it happened, but ultimately orchestrated by who. The Syrian army, rebels, ISIS could have done the deed but who really pulled the strings.

As usual this is now opening rhetoric for ground invasion and other means. Fucking sad. On one hand maybe they should to limit the deaths of the poor cunts living there on the other "limit" means fuck all and could mean the opposite.

It's all about fucking oil as usual but is making me really angry atm. It is Russia vs the West for who controls a pipeline basically.

Really feel for these poor citizens of Syria, Iraq and the rest.

RIP to the ones already lost.

I too think it's a political move with unfortunate casualties.

Would really surprise me whoever is behind it. I just hope whoever it is can deal with it... I couldn't.

BBC News Syria war: US launches missile strikes following chemical 'attack'

The US has carried out a missile attack against targets in Syria in response to a suspected chemical weapons attack on a rebel-held town.
A Pentagon official said about 50 Tomahawk cruise missiles were fired at a Syrian air base.
Earlier, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad should have no role in a future Syria.
His comments signalled a sudden shift in policy by the new US administration.

Well it's seems you could have have been correct Piggzy, the US has launched a missile attack on the base responsible for the gas attack. Apparently

A modern western leader has finally had the backbone to do what was needed. In recent years we have heard condemnation of president Assad for using chemical weapons. We have also had world condemnation of Russia's role in Crimea with Russia taking the piss by denying that they had troops on the ground in Crimea. North Korea continue to develop nuclear weapons, ignoring any threats of action by the west. Some countries have seen the west as weak and lacking backbone. Maybe now some of these countries will think twice.

Russia are accusing the US of breaking international law with this strike on the Syrian airport, when in fact the US were standing up for international law after Assad used illegal chemical weapons.

Even though he seemed to be developing an air of friendship and cooperation with president Putin, with some people even accusing him of being too friendly with Russia, he has shown that frendship has its limits and he wasn't going to let it get in the way of standing up for international law and doing what was necessary to make Assad think twice before using chemical weapons again. I'm sure this breaking news is completely unrelated to the USA's military industrial complex.

A lorry has driven into a store in central Stockholm, killing at least three people, Swedish media say.
Shots have also reportedly been fired.
Swedish police said a number of people were injured, and they are treating it as terrorism.
The incident occurred on Drottninggatan (Queen Street), one of the city's major pedestrian streets, just before 15:00 local time (13:00 GMT).

Witnesses told local media they saw a lorry driving into the window of the Ahlens department store, and they have seen people on the ground.
"There is total confusion, I do not know how many are injured, many people are totally shocked," one witness, Leif Arnmar, who was working in the department store, told Swedish national broadcaster SVT.

Whether he had an ulterior motive or not, I believe it was the right response. So do many politicians around the world, including the majority of our government and, if you can believe a poll carried out this morning, the majority of the British public. I suspect that even president Putin is not surprised that this has happened. He was given some notice of it but didn't make any attempt to shoot down the tomahawk missiles, something he surely has the capacity to do if he wanted to. Although he won't publicly admit it he probably feels that Assad had gone too far with the chemical weapon attack.

Chemical and biological weapons are classed as weapons of mass destruction and are banned under international law. If countries are allowed to get away with using chemical weapons without punishment then how long will it be before some countries start producing them again to give themselves a military advantage. This would possibly put our own troops at risk of chemical attack in the future, because with more chemical weapons in the world how long will it be before terrorist groups get their hands on some. Then what next... Biological weapons that can wipe out an entire country or possibly the world, where the only one safe is the country with the antidote. (">

Worrying if true but breaking on twitter is that right now Assad is launching a massive chlorine gas attack on the Qaboun district of Damscus.

Nothing in MSM yet. #qaboun on twitter.

Your naïveté is quite amusing. Western politicians, especially of the hawk variety, who have overwhelmingly backed this action, have an ideological duty to do so. And using that as a yard stick for your own morality is telling. As regards the British public, as we see time and again, they are led largely by the media, who themselves are part of the same establishment as the politicians.

As regards Putin, I suspect he orchestrated the whole affair. Assad is a puppet. To suggest Putin, who has his enemies killed at the drop of a hat, feels that Assad had gone too far, is laughable.

Putin thrives on chaos. The more chaotic he can make the world, the more power he can amass. And if the last 18 months has taught us anything, Putin is a master manipulator. One by one he is helping to create vast divisions in as many Western nations as he can. He succeeded in the US and is busy trying to do similar in Italy, France and Germany. Brexit was like a wet dream for him too, he longs to dismantle the EU and NATO, and I suspect he may just achieve it.

There's something not quite right here. There must be several billion dollars/roubles worth or optics staring down on that part of the world at the moment, yet there is no hard evidence being presented by either parties proving or disproving to origins of the chemical weapons attack.
