    Help Xbox original softmod question

I have an original Xbox that I got from someone on here years ago. It had an Aladdin chip in it, but the chip has now failed. It boots up as normal Xbox and I can see all my saves plus some other stuff like DVD to Xbox convertor. I made a USB lead last night and have got a USB drive working. What files do I need? And I don't have many proper games, so is there anyway without a splinter cell game and also am I likely to lose all my original stuff when its nodded.

You can do it via hotswapping, but you'll need a PC with an IDE interface or a sata to IDE converter. Also much more of a pain in the arse, see if you can get splinter cell on ebay.

I recently soft modded my original XBOX with Splinter Cell. A quick Google for "Splinter Cell softmod saves" will give you the links you need. Just make sure you search for PAL version.

As above, there is a shit load of Splinter Cell for sale on ebay.

So first you connect your USB stick to the XBOX and it will format it in a way the XBOX can read. Then you plug the USB to the PC where you have downloaded the saves.

Use Xplorer360 to copy the saved files on to said USB then copy them on to the XBOX hard drive.

Load up Splinter Cell, load the profile that you transferred, then load the save game and you're off.

This is a very good video but in typical american fashion goes on for about 30 minutes longer than it needs to.

    Thanks to cyprus

Thanks true blue, a great offer. (Good Karma for you.) But for the price of £2.33, i have gone with psxcitys find for me.

Will i able to save my original saves somehow, or just keep them on there?

No worries mate. If I remember correctly you can just back them up to the memory device you have stored you splinter cell game save onto.

    Thanks to trueblue924
