    Default Mountain bike slick tyres?

    Hi all,
Need some slicks for some road riding on my mtb. It's nothing special - Specialized Hard Rock.

    I've got alexrims 559x18 (26x2.0) rims. What's everyone's recommendations for some slicks?

I'm not in the market for a new bike or new rims just some tyres to put on my current runs for road riding.

Couple of guys I know use Schwalbe Marathons and reckon they work well. I have no personal experience to be honest.

I've used Continental Sport Contact 26 x 1.9 for years. They are becoming hard too find nowadays as I believe they have been superseded. Great tyre for tarmac use.

Thanks guys. I'd been looking at the schwalbe marathons.
    Those continentals look good too.

Would there be any issue putting 1.75's on a 2.0 rim? Would they even fit?

Not at all. Doubt the rim is really two inches as that would make it 50mm and the majority of "normal" mtb rims come in up to about 23mm max. I am currently looking for some 40mm internal and they are massive. If it is your tyres that are 2.0 then you will get away with them easily.

If it is these - http://mongcycles.com/new-parts/attachment/2794/ then they are actually 18mm so you could easily pull off 1.5" tyres. BIt narrower and less resistance. Could be better for you?
