I've done loads, so some general pointers...

Keep anything with names/addresses etc out of the shot - Amazon will refuse it if it contains personal info,
Similarly, be careful if you're going to show your baby in the review. They are shit hot on things with kids in - quite rightly so.
No advertising, so a can of coke on the table, or a bottle of Heinz ketchup will get it refused too.
By all means show the box and all the items it comes with, but make this a small portion of your video
A video of you actually using the product and all of it's features are ones that are generally well received.

If you're uncomfortable with talking either to, or behind a camera, don't. Instead use editing software and insert any relevant bits into the video to highlight a feature, or a problem.

Do it somewhere quiet. You're testing a baby monitor, so, unless the monitor is picking up the noise, then there should be little else recorded (TV in the background, motorbike roaring past the house etc)

Record it at the highest setting you can, then convert it to a max file size, once ready for upload of @100mb.
Achieve this by either converting to 420p, (if it's a longish video, 7mins +) or 720p if it's shortish (say @4 mins)
I think the max length you can upload is 10 mins.

There's a nice (free) program called Handbrake, which will compress a video to about 1/10th of it's original size, with very little drop in quality. Very useful if you're then going to edit video together as huge files take a long time to load for editing and even longer to then compress once you've finished.

Don't be afraid to make a couple of copies of the vid at various settings. Amazon conversion can sometimes make your work of art look like a bag of shite, so by all means upload an alternate version and see if that makes it less pixelated.

    Best of luck

If you've got a face for radio, be generous with the lighting and the right angles. No one needs to hear your heavy breathing down the mic, or be subjected to counting your ear hairs, stay well back.

Be direct, and throw in jokes, jokes never go down well, especially as most just laugh through their nose and just create loud exhale instead.

If in doubt, borrow a mask from Det, he's got thousands.

    Thanks to BigBrand
