Watched most of the 2nd episode (fell asleep), im just a little disappointed that they are using the Klingons again! - the most overused enemy in Star Trek, I was hoping they would introduce some new ones but it seems they are sticking to the tried and tested, maybe series 2
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

Was enjoyable and will continue to watch, but was it just me that found the story had many similarity's to the star trek 2009 film ?

Due to them kneeling during their anthem, I'd expect the ratings and viewer numbers to crash.

Really enjoyed episode 1 and 2. Episode 3 was sublime in my books. Classic Trek.

What are your thoughts now after 8 episodes? It's lost it for me, re hashed story lines, shallow characters and they are not even trying to keep the timeline within context. It seems to be a eco friendly organic love fest. Mushroom drive...please!

I have to admit the last two episode seem to have lost their way a little, the story lines weaker and their trying to tick too many boxes in to short a time.

On the upside I do appreciate gingers and Cadet Sylvia Tilly ticks that box.

    So SE01E09 ends SE01 like
    Spoiler:
    Voyager began.

Always thought Voyager was an attempt at a humours take on a women driver who's always gets lost. Will be interesting to see how they spin Discovery out in January.

There is an interesting fan theory going around where discovery is actually set in the mirror universe

I've really enjoyed this series ! The Finale is next week already, I do hope there is a series 2

    Spoiler:
It was a bit disappointing that they killed off Capt Lorca in my opinion, for me he made the series great, perhaps if there's a series 2 he could be brought back in from yet another universe !
