Ben Ainslie seeks first British America's Cup win - was sort of half listening to this when they started banging on about it costing something like 120 million to launch the challenge and that included £6.5 Million of taxpayers money, just made me wonder how many other things like this taxpayers money is in my opinion Spunked Up The Wall on we don't know about or never hear about.

I always wonder why so much money is spent on most things the government 'pay for'. Some serious creative accounting and bungs no doubt.

I understand the need for ring-fenced budgets - you'd never do anything otherwise, other than solving all the murders.

But 6.5m for a bit of sailing? Surely there are some kids in poverty that the taxpayer could buy some food or shoes for instead?

Put some C list celebrity with a fake tan, tits and teeth in front of a nightclub and the world and his wife wants to be snapped with them just so they can upload their "fame" to instacunt.
