Default Death Wish (2017) - Bruce Willis

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1137450/?ref_=nm_flmg_dr_1

Looks like a remake of the 1974 classic. Could be good and hope it is.

Eli Roth is the director though and although he has done some things I enjoyed I have to admit he is very hit and miss.

Example , I watched 'Knock Knock' last night also from Eli Roth. Fuck me that was hard work , it was really bad and although I never really rated Keanu Reeves he embarrassed himself his acting was that bad.

Lets hope Death Wish is one of his hits.

    Thanks to piggzy

Could be interesting but I can't help but think that Willis is past it.

Oh god. Is nothing sacred? I like Willis but he's gonna fuck this. I've seen his last couple films and they have been hard work. Name escapes me but he played an OAP in one and got his ass kicked all the time.

Sorry but I'm not happy about another remake...

Classics should remain so. IMO of course.

Yes Willis is a concern, I haven't actually seen anything current he has been in in the last 5 years at least so not sure how he is aging.

I think Sin City 1 might be the last thing I saw him in or possibly some Tarantino flick.

It's like Harrison Ford, they will have the poor cunt acting with a zimmer frame I'm sure.

Anyone's opinion on which if any remakes are better than the original?

Judge Dredd. - The remake with Karl Urban was very watchable.

Mind you, you could have dropped a fresh turd on a table, stuck a lolly stick with "Judge Dredd" scrawled on it, in the turd, then time lapsed 90 minutes of the turd decaying and it would still be better than the abortion Stallone made of it.

Better is not the word I think should always be used when discussing remakes. Yes they almost are never better but for me sometimes seeing a film you loved with 30+ years of CGI and other advancements can be worth the watch whether it is better or not.

Rose tinted spectacles I guess :-)

I think I liked "The Thing" remake but I probably didn't, as the thing was one of my favourite films growing up I don't think I could allow myself to say it was a bad remake. (but it probably was)

I'm hoping the remake of Stephen Kings "IT" will be a good one.

The Thing (1982) was a remake anyway and one of the few that is better than the original.

Eli Roth is a fucking hack director although this looks lighter in tone than most of his stuff. Can't remember the last time I saw a Bruce Willis film where he actually looked like he was trying though.

    Thanks to TJB

All of the Spiderman movies have been good. Toby McGuire's was my favourite "remake".
The planet of the apes movies - the first still haunts me when Ceasar speaks for the first time
The Ring - the American version was, in my opinion, the superior although I like the Japanese one too
