What is it for and what platforms do you want to use it on? I have read that PrivateInternetAccess are one of the best, they have servers all around the world and support various protocols.

You can either get a router that has VPN features and have the connection from there or your TV may be Android or something in which case you can try to download the apps from the provider you choose. You may also be able to connect a computer to a VPN and then run a local proxy using something like CCProxy and connect your TV to that to route via VPN.

You also will have to be careful as some IPTV providers don't allow VPN's

So, I'm long overdue a VPN. Will be mainly using for two things. Firstly for home network to allow family to download and stream and secondly to spoof location on my tablet back to UK when I am abroad on work.

Do the VPNs with 5 connections allow this? Probably my main concern is that main home PC isn't always on. Do tablets have to connect to main PC which would act as server?
